  • Patent number: 10339156
Abstract: A system and method that enables editing capabilities of content accessed from a content management server using any type of locally-installed application is provided. In some embodiments, a content management server stores documents in a cache on the user's computer. Documents can thus be accessed and edited using the document in the local file system of the user. For example, users may open, reserve or lock, download, and edit documents with a single user action such as a click. Advantageously, the teachings of embodiments as described can be used in conjunction with content management systems for improving the user experiences involved in editing documents by providing an ‘instant’ and ‘seamless’ editing experience substantially equivalent to editing files on a local hard disk.

  • Patent number: 10332388
Abstract: Described are techniques for determining whether a received audio signal is corrupted or a product of noise, prior to decoding the entire signal. An emitted audio signal may include initialization data, which includes a predetermined sequence of symbols, and which precedes encoded payload data. Correspondence between the predetermined sequence of symbols and expected symbols stored as confirmation data may be determined. If the correspondence indicates a match, an audio receiver may continue decoding the audio signal to access the payload data. If the correspondence does not indicate a match, the audio receiver may cease decoding, which may conserve power, computing resources, and time, ensuring that subsequent audio signals are not missed while the audio receiver decodes a false or corrupted signal.

  • Patent number: 10320576
Abstract: Described are systems to manage energy distribution and operation of computing devices (“devices”). The devices may connect to a shared data and power distribution system, such as receiving electrical energy in conjunction with data signals using Power over Ethernet (POE). During activation of the facility, such as after an energy outage, the demand for energy from many devices attempting to startup may exceed the energy capacity available. Described are devices and techniques for distributing energy to devices, coordinating operating mode of the devices, and so forth, to mitigate demand spikes for electrical energy that exceed the capacity of the energy distribution system.

  • Publication number: 20190156237
Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for coupling two flux qubits. A quantum circuit assembly includes a first flux qubit, having at least two potential energy minima, and a second flux qubit, having at least two potential energy minima. A system formed by the first and second qubits has at least four potential energy minima prior to coupling, each of the four potential energy minima containing at least one eigenstate of a system comprising the first flux qubit and the second flux qubit. A coupler creates a first tunneling path between a first potential energy minimum of the system and a second potential energy minimum of the system, and a second tunneling path between a third potential energy minimum of the system and a fourth potential energy minimum of the system. The coupler creates the first and second tunneling paths between potential energy minima representing states of equal bit parity.

  • Patent number: 10289330
Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to a method and system for efficiently sharing limited memory among multiple processors. Each processor has a local linked list. The local linked list identifies the pages allocated to the specific processor as well as the number of free codewords for each allocated page. Additionally, the local linked list includes the location of the next free codeword(s) for each allocated page. When all codewords are available, the page is considered free and may be sent back to the page pool used by all of the processors. If there are a sufficient number of contiguous free codewords on an allocated page, then new codeword data may be stored in the page. If there is not a sufficient number of contiguous free codewords on any allocated page, then a new page is allocated from the page pool. Thus, efficient allocate of memory resources is achieved.
