Abstract: The present disclosure generally relates to systems and methods for establishing and maintaining communication between two or more communication devices coupled to communication networks. Some specific aspects relate to communication between a plurality of communication devices each of which is coupled to a respective network. Other aspects relate to establishing such communication by way of contact lists maintained and facilitated on systems coupled to the networks. Users of multiple communication networks, such as VoIP, PSTN and wireless, employ multiple communication devices to communicate with their contacts. For example, a VoIP enabled computer is necessary to access contacts on a VoIP network and a mobile or cellular telephone is used to access contacts on wireless and PSTN networks. A contact list, stored on one communication device, in some instances, cannot be accessed from another communication device.

Abstract: Systems and methods are disclosed for determining a context-dependent virtual distance based on stigmergic interference. The method may include obtaining environmental status information relating to an environment in proximity to a client device, calculating, based on the obtained environmental status information, the context-dependent virtual distance between the client device and a user of the client device, and controlling a user signaling pattern of the client device based on the calculated context-dependent virtual distance.

Abstract: In an aspect, a client device detects a set of proximate client devices. The client device classifies, for each respective proximate client device in the set of proximate client devices, a relationship relative to an operator of the client device based on a local evaluation of one or more interactions between the client device and at least one proximate client device from the set of proximate client devices in response to the detecting. The client device determines whether to automatically trigger a communicative action with one or more proximate client devices from the set of proximate client devices based on the classifying.

Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are disclosed for synchronizing data inputs generated at a plurality of frequencies by a plurality of data sources. A device receives a first set of data points from a first data source of the plurality of data sources generated at a first frequency of the plurality of frequencies, receives a second set of data points from a second data source of the plurality of data sources generated at a second frequency of the plurality of frequencies, selects a time window corresponding to a period of time during which at least a subset of the first set of data points and at least a subset of the second set of data points were generated, and generates a vector representing a first reduced form of the subset of the first set of data points and a second reduced form of the subset of the second set of data points.

Abstract: Methods and systems are disclosed for incrementally sharing increasing amounts of information between two or more user devices. An aspect detects a second user device that is proximate a first user device, receives first log data from the second user device, determines whether the first user device and the second user device interacted with each other during a first period of time based on the first log data, assigns a first trust level to the second user device based on the first log data, wherein the second log data is more private than the first log data, determines whether the first user device and the second user device interacted with each other during a second period of time based on the received second log data, and assigns a second trust level to the second user device based on the second log data.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a method of providing a status message may include receiving, from a mobile device one or more status messages, wherein each status message corresponds to one or more contacts in an address book, storing the status messages and corresponding one or more contacts, transmitting one of the status messages to a mobile device associated with one of the one or more contacts, wherein the status message is displayed on the associated mobile device and integrating the status message into an address book associated with the contact.

Abstract: A method of optimizing call dialing may include receiving a first call including one or more of a session identification number, a contact identification number, a contact name and a direct inward dialing number, determining a call provider and a callee provider based on the first call, determining cost information associated with one or more numbers corresponding to a callee and routing a second call between the caller and the callee based on one or more of the caller provider, the callee provider and the cost information.

Abstract: Methods and systems for receiving an offer from an entrusting device to access one or more devices are disclosed. A trust model module of a first device receives the offer from the entrusting device to provide the first device with permission to access the one or more devices, and determines whether or not to accept the offer from the entrusting device to provide the permission to access the one or more devices, wherein the first device determines whether or not to accept the permission to access the one or more devices based on a relationship between the first device and the entrusting device and/or a relationship between the first device and the one or more devices.

Abstract: Method and systems for deriving relationships from overlapping time and location data are disclosed. A first user device receives time and location data for a first user, the time and location data for the first user representing locations of the first user over time, reduces the time and location data for the first user around a first plurality of artificial neurons, wherein each of the first plurality of artificial neurons represents a location of the first user during a first time, transmits the reduced time and location data for the first user to a server, wherein the server determines whether or not the first user and a second user are related based on determining that the first user and the second user have an artificial neuron in common among the first plurality of artificial neurons and a second plurality of artificial neurons.

Abstract: Systems and methods for generating a grammar describing activities of a user are disclosed. An aspect receives log data for the user, clusters the log data around a plurality of cluster centroids, assigns one or more semantic labels to each of the plurality of cluster centroids based on determining that a threshold number of log data points have been assigned to each of the plurality of cluster centroids, determines a sequence in which the log data points were clustered around the plurality of cluster centroids, generates one or more grammars representing a sequence of possible activities of the user based on the sequence in which the log data points were clustered around the plurality of cluster centroids and the one or more semantic labels of each of the plurality of cluster centroids, and filters the assigned one or more semantic labels for each of the plurality of cluster centroids.

Abstract: In an embodiment, a device controller initiates a dynamic discovery procedure to detect media output devices that are currently in proximity to a user. The device controller determines a first subset of the detected media output devices configured to present a first media type (e.g., video, audio, etc.) to the user and a second subset of the detected media output devices configured to present a second media type (e.g., audio, video, etc.) to the user. The device controller directs first and second portions of media to the first and second subsets conjunctive presentation. In another embodiment, the first and/or second subsets can include two or more devices, such that the same media type can be presented by multiple devices (e.g., to achieve a surround sound effect, a split-screen or cloned video effect, etc.).

Abstract: A method of authenticating a caller and authorizing a callee in a user-device environment may include receiving, by a gateway, a logon request comprising information associated with a caller and determining whether the caller is a subscriber based on at least a portion of the received caller information. If the caller is a subscriber, an other gateway may receive information associated with a callee who belongs to a contact list associated with the caller. The other gateway may determine whether the callee is authorized based on at least the callee information and the caller information, and if the callee is authorized, a call between the caller and the callee may be connected.

Abstract: In an embodiments a method of providing a local access number to a subscriber may include receiving subscriber locale information indicating a location of a subscriber, mapping the subscriber locale information to one or more local access numbers, identifying, from the one or more local access numbers, a local access number corresponding to the subscriber locale information and transmitting the identified local access number to the subscriber's mobile device.

Abstract: The present disclosure relates to transmitting data between a plurality of computing devices such as mobile telephones and other electronic communications devices, where a request is associated with placing a call to a contact, and where information associated with the request is stored and a request for a SIP proxy is made, and an IP address associated with the SIP proxy is transmitted to allow redirecting the call to a server via the SIP proxy.

Abstract: Method and apparatuses for constructing a grammar to describe interactions among a plurality of devices in a network are disclosed. An aspect receives, by a network interface of a device, device capabilities of each of the plurality of devices, generates, by a reduced device list generator of the device, a reduced device list representing groupings of the plurality of devices based on the device capabilities, models, by an interaction sequence modeler of the device, one or more sequences of interactions among the plurality of devices using the reduced device list, constructs, by a grammar construction module of the device, the grammar based on the modeled one or more sequences of interactions, and stores the grammar in a memory of the device.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing voicemail services to callers of wireless devices may include providing customized outgoing messages to callers based upon the caller's identification. A subscriber to the voicemail service may select one or more contacts associated with the subscriber to receive a customized outgoing message while the remaining callers receive a general outgoing message. The methods and apparatus may further include distributing voicemail messages from a subscriber's voicemail accounts to one or more social networking sites. The subscriber to the voicemail services may share one or more received voicemail messages via one or more social networking accounts associated with the subscriber.

Abstract: Methods and apparatus for providing voicemail services to callers of wireless devices may include providing customized outgoing messages to callers based upon the caller's identification. A subscriber to the voicemail service may select one or more contacts associated with the subscriber to receive a customized outgoing message while the remaining callers receive a general outgoing message. The methods and apparatus may further include distributing voicemail messages from a subscriber's voicemail accounts to one or more social networking sites. The subscriber to the voicemail services may share one or more received voicemail messages via one or more social networking accounts associated with the subscriber.

Abstract: The disclosure relates to facilitating and tracking joint purchases among multiple parties. More particularly, multiple parties may use a joint purchasing service to jointly purchase one or more items according to a consecutive, concurrent, or other ownership distribution that the parties agreed upon, and the joint purchasing service may implement one or more controls to track and maintain the ownership distribution. For example, locations associated with jointly purchased items may be tracked such that joint purchasers may be notified when possession should be transferred (e.g., when the current owner's turn expires, when one owner exceeds a usage proportion allocated thereto, etc.). Furthermore, ownership over certain jointly purchased items may be automatically managed (e.g., an electronic item may be transferred from one joint owner to another when the current owner's turn expires, joint owners may be required to be in proximity to use the item, etc.).
