  • Publication number: 20170256172
Abstract: Student data-to-insight-to-action-to-learning analytics system and method use an evidence-based action knowledge database to compute student success predictions, student engagement predictions, and student impact predictions to interventions. The evidence-based action knowledge database is updated by executing a multi-tier impact analysis on impact results of applied interventions. The multi-tier impact analysis includes using changes in key performance indicators (KPIs) for pilot students after each applied intervention and dynamic matching of the pilot students exposed to the appropriate interventions to other students who were not exposed to the appropriate interventions.

  • Patent number: 9104998
Abstract: Current monitoring systems often provide the operating condition of a specific component and do not consider the impact of a specific failure upon an entire system or a business. Nor do the current systems provide an avenue for the business to predict the loss, as well as its impact, and make an educated decision of mitigating the loss based upon economic, environmental, and health and safety considerations. Methods and systems are provided for predicting loss events, impacts of loss events, and providing potential corrective measures to reduce or eliminate the occurrence or impact of the loss events. One aspect relates to the use of system-wide information to predict variables that are directly linked to business impact, such as production loss. Extraneous and transactional data are also utilized according to other aspects of the invention.

  • Patent number: 8714983
Abstract: Embodiments of the invention provide apparatuses, computer media, and methods for supporting lifestyle-reward health games, in which execution is altered based on health behavior of the participant. Input data indicative of the health behavior is obtained and converted into a gaming parameter. The gaming parameter is applied to the lifestyle-reward health game in order to alter the execution of the lifestyle-reward health game. A reward parameter for the participant may be determined based on a utility function, and the reward parameter is invoked when the participant is playing the life-reward health game. Feedback to the participant may be incorporated during the execution of the lifestyle-reward health game, where the feedback is indicative of the participant's health behavior. An avatar may be depicted during execution of the lifestyle-reward health game to illustrate a predicted health condition, in which the depiction is altered by changing the timeframe of the predicted health condition.

  • Patent number: 8200506
Abstract: Apparatuses, computer media, and methods for supporting health needs of a consumer by processing input data. An integrated health management platform supports the management of healthcare by obtaining multi-dimensional input data for a consumer, determining a health-trajectory predictor from the multi-dimensional input data, identifying a target of opportunity for the consumer in accordance with the health-trajectory predictor, and offering the target of opportunity for the consumer. Multi-dimensional input data may include claim data, consumer behavior marketing data, self-reported data, and biometric data. A consumer may be assigned to a cluster based on the multi-dimensional input data and a characteristic of the consumer may be inferred. A cluster may be associated with a disease progression, and a target of opportunity is determined from the cluster and the disease progression. An impact of the target of opportunity may be assessed by delivering treatment to a consumer at an appropriate time.

A health benefit plan is offered from a set of health benefit plan configurations. Responses from members of a consumer group are received that are responsive to a questionnaire and preferred health benefit plans chosen by members of the group are predicted. From the responses, an overall enrollment distribution is estimated. A plurality of health benefit plans is offered to the group when a minimum economic objective is obtained from the set of health benefit plan configurations.

  • Patent number: 7725329
Abstract: A system and method that generates a hierarchical tree network and uses linear-plus-nonlinear learning algorithms to form a consensus view on a member's future health status. Each leaf in the hierarchical tree network is homogeneous in clinical characteristics, experience period, and available data assets. Optimization is performed on each leaf so that features and learning algorithms can be tailored to local characteristics specific to each leaf.

  • Patent number: 7676379
Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for automated extraction and display of past health care use to aid in predicting future health status. A system and method that converts raw medical and pharmacy claims data into Hierarchical Major Clinical Condition (HMCC) and Place of Treatment (POT) time-series data to facilitate the health assessment of a member's total clinical conditions and aid in predicting his or her future health status. The HMCC categories are organized in body systems and likely disease progression to permit both spatio-temporal digital signal processing and the development of a dynamical learning system. Each medical and pharmacy claim of the member is mapped onto one or more HMCC/POT-time cells. At the end of mapping, multiple entries in each HMCC-time cell are accumulated with the temporal resolution determined as a function of group size and temporal fidelity required for model building.
