  • Publication number: 20080147441
Abstract: Apparatuses, computer media, and methods for supporting health needs of a consumer by processing input data. An integrated health management platform supports the management of healthcare by obtaining multi-dimensional input data for a consumer, determining a health-trajectory predictor from the multi-dimensional input data, identifying a target of opportunity for the consumer in accordance with the health-trajectory predictor, and offering the target of opportunity for the consumer. A health benefit plan is offered from a set of health benefit plan configurations. Responses from members of a consumer group are received that are responsive to a questionnaire and preferred health benefit plans chosen by members of the group are predicted. From the responses, an overall enrollment distribution is estimated. A plurality of health benefit plans is offered to the group when a minimum economic objective is obtained from the set of health benefit plan configurations.

  • Publication number: 20080147438
Abstract: Apparatuses, computer media, and methods for supporting health needs of a consumer by processing input data. An integrated health management platform supports the management of healthcare by obtaining multi-dimensional input data for a consumer, determining a health-trajectory predictor from the multi-dimensional input data, identifying a target of opportunity for the consumer in accordance with the health-trajectory predictor, and offering the target of opportunity for the consumer. Multi-dimensional input data may include claim data, consumer behavior marketing data, self-reported data, and biometric data. A consumer may be assigned to a cluster based on the multi-dimensional input data and a characteristic of the consumer may be inferred. A cluster may be associated with a disease progression, and a target of opportunity is determined from the cluster and the disease progression. An impact of the target of opportunity may be assessed by delivering treatment to a consumer at an appropriate time.

  • Publication number: 20040093166
Abstract: A system and method for performing tissue image analysis and region of interest identification for further processing applications such as laser capture microdissection is provided. The invention provides three-stage processing with flexible state transition that allows image recognition to be performed at an appropriate level of abstraction. The three stages include processing at one or more than one of the pixel, subimage and object levels of processing. Also, the invention provides both an interactive mode and a high-throughput batch mode which employs training files generated automatically.

  • Patent number: 6028948
Abstract: A method (30) is provided for the detection and analysis of anomalies (32) in a road surface (36). An image (34) of the road surface (36) is obtained (82) wherein traffic control markings (76) are masked (88). The image (34) is filtered (90) and a pixel map (92) is produced (98). The pixel map (92) is partitioned (112) into a multiplicity of subimages (108). For each subimage (108), anomaly parameters are identified (120) and a status characteristic is determined (124) and assigned (136). A subimage map (138) is produced (142) depicting the subimages (108) and their status characteristics. A determination (156) is made as to which subimages (108) contain anomalies (32). Anomaly-containing subimages (108) are grouped (158) into anomalous objects (152). For each anomalous object (152), an object type (162) is determined (160) and assigned (164). An object map (154) is then produced (166) depicting the anomalous objects (152).
