  • Patent number: 11229954
Abstract: An additive manufacturing apparatus and corresponding method for building an object by layerwise consolidation of material, where the apparatus includes a build enclosure containing a build support for supporting the object during the build, a material source for providing material to selected locations for consolidation, a radiation device for generating and directing radiation to consolidate the material at the selected locations and an acoustic sensing system. The acoustic sensing system may be arranged to detect acoustic signals generated in the build enclosure by consolidation of the material with the radiation. The acoustic sensing system may be a passive acoustic sensing system arranged to detect acoustic signals generated in the build enclosure that are indicative of at least one condition of the building process and/or the object.

  • Publication number: 20210387034
Abstract: An exercise monitor and method thereof having: a displacement sensor; a processing unit having a processor, clock, a memory storage device, and instructions for (1) computing a bounce rate using only displacement data and time data, (2) computing upper and lower displacement thresholds using only displacement data, and (3) for computing intensity using only bounce rate (beat frequency) and upper and. lower displacement thresholds. There is a display unit and a wireless connection to a handheld device on which computed information is displayed. Such automatically monitors workout intensity by receiving displacement data from a single displacement sensor and calculating upper and lower displacement thresholds to use to determine both heat frequency and intensity per beat via which intensity over a period may be displayed to a user.

  • Publication number: 20210355654
Abstract: The invention is directed to a method and apparatus of forming two or more waving rip lines across a sloping surface, wherein the rip lines are formed at substantially right angles to the downward direction of the sloping surface and have a plurality of peaks and troughs. The troughs form catchment areas for water and the peaks separate the troughs limiting the amount of water stored in the catchment areas. Each of the rip lines can be substantially parallel with each other or offset relative to an adjacent rip line. The plurality of waving rip lines contribute to the stability of the landform, long term conservation and maintenance of the landform, and thereby encourage establishment and growth of vegetation in the remediation process.

  • Publication number: 20210261112
Abstract: A method for operating a drive device for a motor vehicle, the drive device having a first drive unit designed as an internal combustion engine and a second drive unit designed as an electrical machine, which together at least temporarily provide a drive torque of the drive device on an drive shaft, the drive torque being set to a requested default torque. It In a first operating mode, before changing a speed of the drive shaft for the first drive unit, a torque characteristic is selected from multiple torque characteristics. In the first operating mode, while the speed is being changed, the first drive unit is operated according to the selected torque characteristic for providing at least one part of the specified torque, and a differential torque between the specified torque and the torque provided by the first drive unit boil is provided by the second drive unit.

  • Publication number: 20210081238
Abstract: A Data Storage Device (DSD) includes a memory for storing data, and a controller configured to execute firmware or code to perform a task. While performing the task, the controller is further configured to assign unique identifiers to respective firmware or code portions that are executed to perform the task, and create a list or data structure including the unique identifier assigned to the firmware or code portion that created the task. A unique identifier is added to the list or data structure for each firmware or code portion executed for the task. The list or data structure indicates the order in which the firmware or code portions are executed.

  • Publication number: 20210064817
Abstract: A method for partially publishing edits to a document is described. A first document including a first cell and a second cell is displayed on first user account on a first computing device and on a second user account. A second document including a linked version of the first cell and a linked version of the second cell is displayed. An edit of the first cell is received from the first user account and an edit of the second cell is received. In response to receiving an indication from the first user account that the edit of the first cell is to be published, the edit of the first cell is made to the linked version of the first cell, while the linked version of the second cell is unchanged so that the content of the linked version of the second cell no longer matches that of the second cell.

  • Publication number: 20200406268
Abstract: Methods and systems for reducing an average particle size of blackwater solids is disclosed. A vessel is configured to receive a blackwater stream through a one-way inlet. The one-way inlet is configured to allow the blackwater stream into the vessel and prevent backflow. The blackwater stream contains blackwater solids and water. A device in a bottom portion of the vessel is configured to receive the blackwater and comminute the blackwater solids. A recirculating pump is configured to recirculate the blackwater stream under pressure through the device until the average particle size of the blackwater solids is reduced below a size threshold, resulting in a sized blackwater stream.

  • Patent number: 10798077
Abstract: Approaches for securely authenticating untrusted operating environments. A software module intercepts a message which requires a first operating environment to authenticate itself to a service or resource provider. The software module executes outside of the first operating environment. The first operating environment lacks access to an authentication mechanism necessary to successfully authenticate to the service or resource provider. The software module notifies a second operating environment of the message. The second operating environment determines that the first operating environment should be permitted to authenticate to the service or resource provider. The second operating environment obtains authentication data generated using the authentication mechanism. The second operating environment provides the authentication data to the first operating environment to allow the first operating environment to authenticate itself to the service or resource provider.
