Patent number: 9486714Abstract: A hurdle with movable gate tubes that telescope upon uprights has an automatically movable counterweight inside each leg. Each counterweight is attached to two cables. The first cable runs from the leading end of the counterweight to a cable guide inside the leading end of each leg, then to a cable guide at the intersection of the leg and the upright, then to an actuating rod. The second cable runs from the trailing end of the counterweight to a cable guide at the intersection of the leg and the upright, then to a cable guide near the top of the upright, and then to the actuating rod.Type: GrantFiled: August 3, 2015Date of Patent: November 8, 2016Assignee: Litania Sports Group, Inc.Inventors: Bryan R. Publication number: 20140106970Abstract: A dry, flowable fertilizer is provided that includes multiple dry, flowable biosolids pellets. Each of the pellets has a pellet surface. Potassium salt grains are adhered to the pellet surfaces and a dust control agent coating is applied to retain the grains on the pellet surfaces. The resultant dry, flowable fertilizer has higher potassium loadings to the potassium salt grains than previous biosolids based fertilizers. A process of forming a fertilizer is also provided that includes tumbling dry, flowable biosolids pellets with powdered potassium salt grains to form a mixture. An aqueous spray is added to adhere the salt grains to the pellet surfaces. With the application of a dust control agent, the salt grains are retained. Potassium levels in NPK units of from 1 to 15 are routinely achieved with greater than 90 elemental % of the potassium is from the surface decorating potassium salt grains.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 26, 2013Publication date: April 17, 2014Applicants: The Andersons, Inc., Synagro Technologies, Inc.Inventors: Larry Culp, Joseph David Hodges, Kenneth L. Wetherington, Terry Lee Wiseman

Patent number: 8686898Abstract: A DDS based system, such as a radar, includes means for generating a plurality of transmission signals using a DDS, and means for integrating signals derived therefrom, such as received signals. The system further includes means for varying the relative starting phase of the plurality of transmission signals, or adjusting the DDS input clock while maintaining similar primary output frequency characteristics of the transmission signals. The approach has the effect of changing the location of unwanted frequency spurs in each of the transmission signals, and hence the effects of these are decreased in the integration process. An improvement in the sensitivity of the system results. Although primarily suited to radar applications the invention may find utility in other systems such as sonar or lidar systems.Type: GrantFiled: November 19, 2009Date of Patent: April 1, 2014Assignee: Qinetiq LimitedInventors: Patrick David Lawrence Beasley, Robert David Hodges, David George Hodges

Patent number: 8607328Abstract: Systems, methods, and machine readable media for repairing data processing systems. In one exemplary embodiment, a computer software utility has the ability to repair a personal computer (PC) using a bootable storage medium (e.g. CD). This utility can connect to the Internet and create an encrypted virtual private network (VPN) tunnel to an automated support server network and to other PCs running a similar version of the utility. This utility, in conjunction with the automated support server network, checks the system files (e.g. DLL and system configuration files, etc.) on a PC being repaired and obtains information to perform the checking from the automated support server network and may obtain replacement system files from the automated support server network or the other PCs.Type: GrantFiled: March 4, 2005Date of Patent: December 10, 2013Inventor: David Hodges

Patent number: 8542469Abstract: A protected electrical power system may comprise a feeder between a power source and an electrical load. A first current transformer may be positioned on the feeder in a first location. The first current transformer may have a shunt resistor electrically connected across its winding. A second current transformer may be positioned at a second location on the feeder. A control unit may be interposed between the first and second current transformers and may be interconnected with the first and second current transformers on current-monitoring loops independent from the feeder. The control unit may be responsive to a predetermined differential in feeder (DF) current between the first and second current transformers to disconnect the power source from the electrical load. The control unit may have a compensation network for reducing DF error resulting from presence of the shunt resistor in the first current transformer.Type: GrantFiled: August 30, 2010Date of Patent: September 24, 2013Assignee: Honeywell International, Inc.Inventors: Randy Fuller, David Hodge, James Lobsinger

Patent number: 8134344Abstract: A variable frequency generator regulation control circuit and method for controlling open loop gain under changing generator speed conditions employing a high frequency pulse-width modulated signal with a duty cycle that is controlled such that variations in rectified PMG voltage and generator gain over the generator speed range can be compensated for. This signal is modulated by a low frequency pulse-width modulated signal provided by the generator regulator, using a logic gate to produce a combined signal representing an average voltage signal applied to a generator field winding as the generator speed fluctuates.Type: GrantFiled: July 15, 2008Date of Patent: March 13, 2012Assignee: Honeywell International, Inc.Inventor: David Hodge
