  • Publication number: 20180132096
Abstract: In a next generation wireless network, user devices with different capabilities and demands on network services may be mobile within the coverage area of a wireless communication network with different speeds and patterns. A network-side server may associate network slices with different user device capabilities and/or different user device capabilities such that signaling and book-keeping overhead to provide network services to such disparate user devices is minimized, commensurate with mobility and capability characteristics of user devices.

  • Patent number: 9386545
Abstract: Methods and apparatus are directed towards controlling power of physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) format 1b for advanced time division duplex. If HARQ-ACK bundling is not applied, then nHARQ associated with the PUCCH is determined based on a number of received transport blocks and SPS release physical downlink control channels in subframes i-km. If HARQ-ACK bundling is applied and a number of assigned resource blocks equal to 2, then nHARQ associated with the PUCCH is determined based on a number of received physical downlink shared channels (PDSCH) and semi-persistent scheduling (SPS) release physical downlink control channels (PDCCH) in the subframes i-km.

  • Patent number: 9337950
Abstract: A network and method of operating the network, the network comprising a transport layer that includes first and second disjoint but topologically substantially identical subnetworks A and B, each having a plurality of optical switch nodes and/or reconfigurable optical add-drop multiplexer (ROADM) nodes, and a routing layer wherein each router is coupled to at least one node in A and at least one node in B. The network is operable to provide a plurality of classes of services providing corresponding Quality of Service, and the routing layer or routing/transport interface can differentiate between traffic having different classes of service and schedule the traffic based on its service class. In the case either of the subnetworks becomes inoperable, all of the traffic is transferred to the other subnetwork, and the QoS of the classes of service is maintained by scheduling traffic to increase the delay experienced by delay-tolerant traffic.

  • Patent number: 9325415
Abstract: A wireless communication method and system utilizing optical transmission technology to transport analog signals directly to/from the antenna, without ADC/DAC, so that the optical transport facility can be utilized more efficiently and there is no need to adapt the digital data rate to the transport capacity, as the analog transmission is independent of the digits buried in the given spectrum. Complicated operation is moved into a centralized location, so that a cell site (base station) is light and flexible. In contrast, the standardized approach in the industry, which involves digitized interface between the antenna and the control processor, hits capacity limits of the current transport technology.

  • Patent number: 8798551
Abstract: Spatial discrimination information is fed back at both the multi-antenna transmitter and the multi-antenna receiver connecting a UE and cells within a CoMP measurement set. With the UE feeding back the transmitter and the receiver side spatial discrimination information of each cell-to-UE connection, the composite spatial CSI over multiple sites/nodes can be determined. The approach is applicable for UEs with single or multiple receiving antennas, and the spatial discrimination information can be wideband long-term or subband short-term. In some embodiments, the spatial discrimination information at the receiver side is derived from the actual spatial channel while receiver implementation is taken into account. The spatial discrimination information at the transmitter and at the receiver can be fed back using codebooks for MIMO precoding.

  • Patent number: 8488725
Abstract: A spatial channel state information (CSI) feedback technique is incorporated into multiple-input multiple-output mobile communications technologies.
