  • Publication number: 20080039966
Abstract: A system and method for rediffusion of audio data. The rediffusion of audio data occurs in real-time and includes capturing live audio using a wireless communications device, such as a mobile or cell phone. The captured audio is then transmitted to a media server where it is received and processed into audio data, such as a text transcript or compressed into a storable format. An end user may be notified of the processed audio data, and can request access to it. The audio data is then distributed to the end user via the end user's desired medium.

  • Publication number: 20070240308
Abstract: A method and system dampens vibrations associated with a device installed in a system by supporting the device with one or more support members having a rigid support portion and a dampening support portion made from an elastic material. In one embodiment, an information handling system fan assembly is made with two shot injection molding to form a support member with an integrated dampener that holds a fan mount disposed in a cooling air channel defined by a fan housing. The fan housing, mount and rigid portion of the support member are formed with one shot from a substantially rigid material and the dampening portion is formed with another shot from a substantially elastic material. A fan couples to the fan mount for installation in the information handling system.

  • Patent number: 7178588
Abstract: An improved cup and method for making same for use on a “pig” or any other down hole equipment for engaging the wall of a pipe line, which comprises an inner metal sleeve portion; a metal shoulder portion extending outward from the sleeve around its perimeter extending into an angulated arm portion; a strong flexible material, such as polyurethane, molded onto an outer surface of the sleeve, and enveloping the metal shoulder and arm portion, the flexible material defining the outer body and cup portion of the improved cup, so that the metal shoulder and arm portion enveloped by and integral to the cup portion provides additional support to the flexible material to prevent deformation of other damage to the circular cup as it would be positioned on the “pig” body or other down hole device.

  • Publication number: 20060012949
Abstract: A product badge coupled to a product, such as an information handling system, displays product information to align with a selected of plural product orientations by illuminating a first display material to present the product information in a first orientation associated with a first product orientation and a second display material to present the product information in a second orientation associated with a second product orientation. For instance, illumination by a backlight presents the product information in the first orientation by interacting with the first display material, and suspension of illumination by the backlight presents the product information in the second orientation by allowing reflective light to interact with the second display material. Selection of illumination is automatically or manually accomplished.

  • Publication number: 20030074440
Abstract: Techniques for data-driven validation, completion and construction of event relationship networks (ERNs) are provided. Event relationship networks are widely used in event management system design. To date, ERNs are constructed purely based on human expertise and there is no automatic or event semi-automatic method that validates or completes ERNs. The present invention provides techniques for automatically validating and completing existing ERNs and/or constructing new ERNs, based on collected event data.

  • Patent number: 5855490
Abstract: A wire connector (2) comprising a cover (8) and a body (4) for carrying a wires (84) therebetween. A U-shaped connection element (6) includes a first leg (48) for engaging a wire (84) positioned within the body (4) and a second leg (52) sharpened to sever the end of the wire (84), wherein the body (4) and the cover (8) include co-operating latch structure (30,32), to define an open position, where the wire (84) may be inserted into the connector (2) and a crimped closed position where the body (4) and the cover (8) are fully telescoped together whereby the excess end of the wire (84) is severed and the connector element (6) engages at the wire at the end connection slots (50). In the closed position, the connection element (6) is accessible in a manner that enables a test probe (78) to engage the connection element (6) through cover means (72) which is provided in a normally biased closed position and that is retained in the closed position without the need for latch means.

  • Patent number: 5407320
Abstract: A turbine casing having temperature requirements that vary along the casing and which is at least partially enclosed by a cowling so that a gap is defined between the casing and cowling through which a flow of cooling air may be directed in use, the gap having a magnitude that varies along the casing relative to the temperature requirements of the casing to thereby vary the local velocity of the flow, the cowling being provided with channel shaped portions defining the variations in the gap between the cowling and the turbine casing.

  • Patent number: 3981453
Abstract: A method for segregating bark and/or foliage from wood chips and/or twigs in a mixture of such components is provided. The method includes three essential steps. The first step comprises conditioning a pile of such mixture by periodically sprinkling the pile with water during storage. The second step comprises vigorously agitating the conditioned mixture with sufficient water, and for sufficient time to break bonded bark from the wood chips and the twigs and to comminute the bark. The third step comprises wet screening the agitated mixture thereby separating effluent bark and foliage from the wood chips and/or twigs in the mixture. An additional step includes dewatering the effluent bark and foliage, thereby to recover screened out solids materials. This method can be operated successfully on either a batch or a continuous basis without any serious effect on the reduction of pulp quality.
