  • Patent number: 8476458
Abstract: The present invention relates to a method for identifying compounds that modulate the activity of p300/CBP. Compounds of the invention are identified by designing or screening for a compound which binds to at least one amino acid residue of the newly identified lysine-CoA inhibitor binding site, L1 loop, electronegative pocket, or electronegative groove of the HAT domain of p300/CBP and testing the compound for its ability to modulate the activity of p300/CBP. Compositions and methods for preventing or treating diseases or disorders associated with p300/CBP are also provided as is a method for producing a semi-synthetic HAT domain.
    Type: Grant
    Filed: June 19, 2008
Date of Patent: July 2, 2013
Assignees: The Wistar Institute, The John Hopkins University
Inventors: Ronen Marmorstein, Xin Liu, Philip A. Cole, Ling Wang, Erin M. Bowers, David J. Meyers, Chandrani Mukherjee

  • Patent number: 7501535
Abstract: The invention provides novel six and seven-carbon termini-differentiated polypropionate stereotetrads and stereopentads useful in syntheses of natural products. The invention also provides a novel alkylative sulfenylation-desulfonylation process that efficiently transforms enantiopure epoxyvinyl sulfones to syn and anti dienylsulfides in two operations.

  • Publication number: 20080084678
Abstract: A printed circuit board and a method for imbedding a battery in the printed circuit board are disclosed. The method includes connecting the battery to a first inner pad and a second inner pad on an inner core layer and forming a first battery contact between a first outer pad and the first inner pad. The method also includes electrically isolating the first battery contact and forming a second battery contact between a second outer pad and the second inner pad.

  • Patent number: 6047903
Abstract: The invention is a flow conditioner for a fire nozzle which is located upstream of the nozzle outlet. The conditioner reduces swirl and improves flow characteristics. The conditioner of the present invention is manufactured from a single plate, wherein a plurality of passages for fluid flow are provided. The openings are tapered inwardly on there upstream inlet and tapered outwardly at the discharge opening. A nozzle outlet deflector is connected to the plate by a stem in one embodiment.

  • Patent number: 5479665
Abstract: An automated tri-fold bed includes a bed frame, a mattress support that is pivotable between a horizontal configuration and a mattress folding configuration, and a mechanism for pivoting the mattress support about a transversely centered longitudinal pivot axis. The pivoting mechanism includes an actuating arm attached to the mattress support and an actuator for moving the actuating arm to pivot the mattress support. A mechanism is also provided for folding at least one end of the mattress support about a transverse axis to permit raising of one end of a mattress on the mattress support.

  • Patent number: 5379468
Abstract: A patient-handling apparatus includes an upright post having a top end and a support arm having an inner end adjacent to the upright post and an outer end away from the upright post. The support arm is coupled to the top end of the post about a pivot point to permit movement of the support arm relative to the post between a cantilevered position at an angle to the post and a stored position alongside the post and to permit movement of the support arm relative to the pivot point during movement of the support arm between the cantilevered and stored positions. A mechanism is provided for suspending a patient in the air from the support arm following movement of the support arm to its cantilevered position so that a patient can be moved from one place to another along the support arm between the inner and outer ends of the support arm.
