Abstract: A container assembly having a cap with a channel and a base with protrusions on a collar. The protrusions are received in the channel and guide the cap in a rotating motion onto the base. The cap and base may have magnets that provide an attractive force that brings the cap and base together. The container in cosmetics applications is also discussed.

Abstract: A cosmetic container that includes a lid assembly and first and second jars each configured to hold a cosmetic product. The lid assembly includes an inner lid divided into two sections by a dividing wall. The first and second jars are connectable to the first and second sections, forming a single container. The lid assembly forms a barrier between the first and second jars and allows the jars to be opened separately.

Abstract: A quick release container is provided that includes a base having a base perimeter with a well configured to hold a product, and a lid assembly configured to be removably coupled to the base. The lid assembly includes a lid having: (i) an outer portion extending around a top of the base and having a height extending from the top of the base; and (ii) an inner portion extending between a perimeter of the outer portion and disposed over the well of the base. The lid assembly also includes a depressible element extending between the perimeter of the outer portion, spaced from the inner portion and configured to move along the height of the outer portion, and a clamping device coupled to the lid and removably coupled to the base.

Abstract: A cosmetic container that includes a lid assembly and a base assembly each configured to hold a cosmetic product. The lid assembly and the base assembly are pivotably coupled with a hinge assembly. The hinge assembly may be positioned and secured within recesses of the lid assembly and the base assembly such that the cosmetic container can lie flat on a level surface in a fully open configuration.

Abstract: A cosmetic compact container having a folding lid with a mirror on the folding lid. The compact includes a base and first and section lid sections. One of the two lid sections may include a mirror. An example may enable a user to view the mirror both in the closed and open configuration. Another example may include a particular opening configuration in which the lid is biased to close during a first stage of opening and, after reaching a selected “amount” of opening, the lid is biased to finish opening. Such biasing may be accomplished without the use of a spring.

Abstract: Applicators for use in retrieving product (generally a liquid) from a reservoir, with an applicator for entry to the reservoir coupled to a cap. The cap is configured to be selectively actuated by including a squeezable element. Unlike “bulb” based devices having a cap in the common form of a bulb, a more modern look is created with a cylindrical or other cap shape. The cylindrical cap in one example has generally rigid sides with a squeezable or depressible element having an accordion-type design. The accordion-type design may be hidden from a user. In another example the cylindrical cap has a rigid top surface and is squeezable from its sides. In yet another example, the cylindrical cap is flexible on its sides and top, but does not have the commonly known bulb-shape. The applicator may be, for example, a diptube, a doefoot applicator, a sponge, a plastic, a brush, or any other suitable applicator for cosmetics.

Abstract: A jar and lid assembly that includes a jar assembly configured to hold a product and a base configured to at least partially house the jar. The jar and lid assembly also includes a rotatable lid assembly pivotably coupled to the jar assembly and includes an outer lid portion and an inner lid portion. The rotatable lid assembly further includes a lid ring having: (i) a hinge portion configured to pivot on an axis of the base such that the rotatable lid assembly is pivotable relative to the jar assembly and (ii) a lid ring protruding portion disposed within the gap and a liner disposed on an underside of the inner lid portion and configured to contact the jar when the rotatable lid assembly is in a rotatably closed position. The outer lid portion and the inner lid portion are configured to be movable relative to the lid ring.

Abstract: Cosmetic containers having multiple levels, a lid, and a base, in which the opening of the lid also provides access to at least first and second levels having one or more compartments for products and/or applicators. The base may contain a first level, and be coupled via a first linkage to a second level. The lid may be coupled by a pivot assembly to the base and to the second level by a second linkage. The overall assembly may allow access to both the first level and the second level on opening the lid.

Abstract: A slim-sized, dual makeup applicator provides two applicators for cosmetic product application or maintenance. The applicators are contained or removably fitted within a single body, providing for a compact arrangement. A longitudinal base has two opposing distal ends, each distal end having either an attached applicator that extends longitudinally outward from the longitudinal base or a recess within the longitudinal base for fitting and containing therein a removable applicator. According to an embodiment, a removable cap may be included to expose and cover the attached applicator. The attached applicator or the removable cap may be configured to contain a cosmetic product for application with the attached applicator; and for the removable applicator portion, the removable applicator or the recess may be configured to contain a cosmetic product for application with the removable applicator.

Abstract: A quick release container is provided that includes a base having a base perimeter. The base perimeter also has a well configured to hold a product. The quick release container also includes a lid assembly configured to be removably coupled to the base. The lid assembly includes a lid having: (i) an outer portion extending around a top of the base and having a height extending from the top of the base; and (ii) an inner portion extending between a perimeter of the outer portion and disposed over the well of the base. The lid assembly also includes a depressible element extending between the perimeter of the outer portion, spaced from the inner portion and configured to move along the height of the outer portion. The lid assembly further includes a clamping device coupled to the lid and removably coupled to the base. When the depressible element is moved in a first direction toward the clamping device, a first force is applied to the clamping device causing the clamping device to disengage from the base.

Abstract: An active temperature modulating device for applying cosmetic or medicinal products to surfaces. The device has an applicator which includes a temperature modulating element disposed in the tip. Moreover, the temperature modulating element is controlled via an electrical source. The applicator comprises a material that is capable of storing, retaining, and/or transferring thermal energy during application of the product.

Abstract: A cosmetic compact includes a twistable lid assembly that spins relative to a base assembly about a hinge to change between an open and a closed position. The hinge is disposed in the cosmetic compact at an oblique angle that positions a top surface of the cosmetic compact to face a user after twisting open. The lid assembly is twistable by about 180 degrees relative to the base assembly of the cosmetic compact. By virtue of having the twistable lid assembly, the cosmetic compact is capable of simple and reliable opening. The twistable lid assembly also allows a mirror placed on the top surface of the compact to be useful in both a closed position and an open position.
