  • Patent number: 11893118
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to transferring the ownership of a computing device from one entity to another entity. For example, a security processor is utilized to boot the computing device. During a boot session, the security processor loads and executes boot code, which determines whether specialized firmware authorized by the current owner indicates whether a transfer of ownership is to occur. In response to determining that the specialized firmware indicates that a transfer of ownership is to occur, the secure processor loads and executes the specialized firmware. The specialized firmware, when executed, causes the security processor to program a set of fuses with the public key of the new owner. Execution of the specialized firmware also causes the security processor to invalidate the public key of the original owner, which is stored in another set of fuses.

  • Patent number: 11876804
Abstract: A system may receive first level authentication data from a first user, authorize first level access to a secure device, and transmit a push notification including a second factor authentication key to a first user device responsive to first factor authentication data matching stored authentication data for the first user. The system may receive a wireless communication from the first user device attenuated by one or more beam attenuating materials to form a first attenuated beam profile. In response to a match of the first attenuated beam profile to a stored beam profile beyond a predetermined threshold, the system may associate the second factor authentication key as an authorized login credential for the first user. The system may receive the second factor authentication key from the first user and authorize the second factor authentication data to grant the first user second level access to the secure device.

  • Patent number: 11868500
Abstract: A method of accessing objects with fine-grained access control (FGAC) in a relational database management system (RDBMS) storing a segmented column-major database. For each object with access restrictions, an artificial neural network (ANN), is trained by generating an equally distributed segment map of segmented data entries, so that the map reproduces the row disposition in the unsegmented object. When a user access request is received, these ANNs are referred to determine if any of the objects to be accessed are subject to access restrictions. If that is the case, then the ANN creates a pseudo-view construct of its associated object which is limited to data entries that the user has permission to access. The pseudo-views are then injected into the user access request to embed the fine-grained access controls for subsequent processing of the request, which can then proceed without further regard to user-specific access restrictions.

  • Publication number: 20230419298
Abstract: Systems and methods for securely generating and printing documents are disclosed. For example, processor(s) of a computer system may receive information for the document from a computing device through a network, verify the information for the document, and upon verification, generate document generation data using at least a portion of the information for the document. The document generation data may include document metadata that enables generation of an image of the document and/or the image of the document. Upon the processor(s) verifying first authentication information of a first code associated with a printing device received from the computing device through the network and second authentication information of a second code associated with the computing device received from the printing device through the network, the processor(s) may transmit the document generation data to the printing device through the network, and cause the printing device to print the image of the document.

  • Patent number: 11853428
Abstract: Embodiments described herein are directed to firmware policy enforcement of a computing device. For example, a security processor of the computing device is utilized to boot the computing device. During a boot session, the security processor loads and executes specialized firmware. The specialized firmware, when executed, causes the security processor to determine whether other types of firmware to be executed on the computing device is in compliance with a policy specified by the specialized firmware. Based at least on a determination that the other firmware is in compliance with the policy, the security processor executes the other firmware. Based at least on a determination that the other firmware is not in compliance with the policy, the security processor performs a mitigation with respect to the other firmware.

  • Patent number: 11816468
Abstract: Disclosed herein are system, method, and computer program product embodiments a dual-core automated teller machine (ATM). The dual core ATM system and method includes two physical central processing units (“computing devices” or “cores”) that are configured to perform operations in coordination with peripheral devices. Peripheral devices of the dual-core ATM system can include a peripheral screen, such as a touch screen, a card reader, a PIN pad (e.g., an encrypted pin pad or “EPP”), a cash dispenser, and a cash deposit module. A peripheral switch can isolate one of the computing devices from the one or more peripheral devices and that can permit the other of the computing devices to control the one or more peripheral devices. By maintaining redundant hardware sets within the ATM enclosure, the system can avoid a necessary reboot or powering-off in the event of, for example, a software failure.

  • Publication number: 20230339776
Abstract: A method of forming an LMNO cathode with electrolytic manganese dioxide includes dissolving metallic manganese in acid to create a dissolved manganese solution, disposing the solution within an electrolytic cell including an electrolytic cell anode and an electrolytic cell cathode, and applying a current between the cell anode and the cell cathode to the solution. Applying the current forms an MnO2 deposit upon the cell anode. The method further includes harvesting the deposit, creating a manganese precursor by neutralizing the deposit and grinding the deposit to form an MnO2 powder, and mixing the manganese precursor with a nickel precursor and a lithium precursor to create a mixture. The method further includes calcining the mixture to create an LMNO powder and coating a current collector with the LMNO powder to thereby form the LMNO cathode. The method may include testing the cathode electrode in an electrochemical pouch format cell.

  • Publication number: 20230341924
Abstract: Techniques are described herein that are capable of reducing latency of changing an operating state of a processor from a low-power state to a normal-power state. For example, providing a notification from a hardware system to the processor or receiving the notification at the processor, indicating that a transaction layer packet will be provided to the processor at a future time, may trigger the processor to change the operating state from the low-power state to the normal-power state. In another example, receipt of a transaction layer packet at the processor from a hardware system may trigger the processor to change the operating state from the low-power state to the normal-power state.
