Publication number: 20150153726Abstract: A method is provided for inspecting a plurality of parts with an electronic measurement device and a processing system. The method includes a step of creating surface geometry maps of the parts utilizing the electronic measurement device, where each part was manufactured utilizing the manufacturing device. Geometric part models of the parts are generated from the surface geometry maps. The part models can subsequently be analyzed to determine whether a manufacturing device that manufactured the plurality of parts manufactures parts that comply with a part design specification.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 18, 2014Publication date: June 4, 2015Applicant: UNITED TECHNOLOGIES CORPORATIONInventors: James Romanelli, IV, Jeffrey S. Beattie, Jesse R. Boyer, Robert E. Erickson, Randall W. Joyner, Daniel A. Snyder, David A. Krause, Kun Tong

Publication number: 20140161469Abstract: A high-speed signal generator. A digital signal processing (DSP) block generates a set of N (where N is an integer and N?2) parallel digital sub-band signals, each digital sub-band signal having frequency components within a spectral range between 0 Hz and ±Fs/2, where Fs is a sample rate of the digital sub-band signals. A respective Digital-to-Analog Converter (DAC) processes each digital sub-band signal to generate a corresponding analog sub-band signal, each DAC having a sample rate of Fs/2. A combiner combines the analog sub-band signals to generate an output analog signal having frequency components within a spectral range between 0 Hz and ±NFs/2.Type: ApplicationFiled: December 11, 2013Publication date: June 12, 2014Applicant: CIENA CORPORATIONInventors: David KRAUSE, Charles LAPERLE, Kim B. Patent number: 7582164Abstract: A tire dressing system for efficiently and accurately applying tire dressing to vehicle tires. The tire dressing system generally includes a support unit, a spray unit movably positioned within the support unit, an actuator unit connected to the spray unit, a tire sensor to determine the size of a vehicle tire, and a tire position sensor to determine the location of the vehicle tire. The spray unit includes a hollow cone nozzle telescopically supported within the spray unit to adjust the spray pattern applied to the sidewall of the vehicle tire depending upon the size of the vehicle tire. After the size of the vehicle tire is determined, the proximity of the hollow cone nozzle is adjusted to apply the desired spray pattern to the sidewall. The hollow cone nozzle then applies the dressing to the sidewall of the vehicle tire as the vehicle moves by the spray unit.Type: GrantFiled: March 7, 2008Date of Patent: September 1, 2009Assignee: Cleaning Systems, Inc.Inventors: David Krause, Forrest R. Publication number: 20070049272Abstract: A method and apparatus is provided for simultaneously accessing a broadcast channel which allows for maintaining registration on the broadcast channel and a second channel. The broadcast channel includes a reverse link access channel for a portable communication device (120) to send registration messages to a base station and the method initially includes the step of determining whether a predetermined event requiring registration of the portable communication device on the broadcast channel has been detected (302, 304, 306). After detecting the predetermined event, it is determined whether the portable communication device is communicating on the second channel (308). If not communicating on the second channel (308), registration on the broadcast channel is accomplished by transmitting a registration message on the reverse link access channel (320).Type: ApplicationFiled: August 30, 2005Publication date: March 1, 2007Inventors: William Alberth, David Krause
