  • Publication number: 20070001090
Abstract: A stress-release mold is described for casting thermosetting compositions especially compositions designed for consumer use. At least one wall of the mold includes a stress-releasing-element characterized by having a more flexible region or regions than the remaining wall or walls of the mold and wherein the stress-releasing-element includes a region of lower curvature at least partially surrounded by a region of higher curvature. The stress-release mold greatly reduces or eliminates surface defects caused by shrinkage of thermosetting compositions as they cools. A system is also described that includes the inventive mold containing a thermosetting composition wherein the mold also serves as all or part of the package for the composition.

  • Publication number: 20060230789
Abstract: A takeout jaw for handling glass bottles includes a holder for both fixed and floating inserts. This design allows an insert to be in a fixed position when the insert is provided with a nominal thickness. When a floating insert of a lesser thickness is installed, the spring clip does not engage the floating insert, which allows the floating insert to move vertically or float. The takeout holder contains either type of insert within the pocket with retaining clips that engage chamfers formed on the inserts.

  • Publication number: 20050113189
Abstract: A croquet wicket lighting unit to provide illumination in the vicinity of a wicket to facilitate playing the game of croquet under conditions of low illumination. Components are attached to a mounting plate 11 that straddles the wicket. The mounting plate universally and firmly attaches to any size or style of wicket by means of retaining straps 24 and friction pads 25 in combination with universal engaging slots 12. The illumination element directs an intense beam of focused light through a hole 13 in the mounting plate and onto the playing surface immediately under the wicket to clearly reveal the passage of a ball through the wicket. The illumination scheme also casts a larger area of more diffuse light on the playing surface immediately adjacent to the focus spot to reveal croquet balls resting therein and facilitate play around the wicket.
