  • Publication number: 20100114600
Abstract: An electronic physician's orders system that automates and simplifies existing methods of generating, maintaining and retrieving physician's orders. In contrast to other systems, the electronic physician's orders system can create physician's orders electronically at the point-of-care and can maintain the orders in an Orders' Database or print the orders for use in a paper-based system. Thus, the system can eliminate or supplement creating and maintaining handwritten physician's orders records.

  • Publication number: 20080115517
Abstract: An apparatus and method for providing a partial recirculation mode of operation in an HVAC control system of a vehicle to place a fresh air passage, a recirculation passage, and an interior passage in fluid communication to reduce vehicle door closing energy by allowing external discharge of cabin air pressure from the interior passenger compartment through the fresh air passage during vehicle door closure. The partial recirculation mode bypasses distribution vent covers, distribution ductwork, heater and evaporator cores, and blowers in order to open a more direct air outlet path to atmosphere which can be activated as required in order to reduce vehicle door closing energy. The partial recirculation mode of operation is activated in response to predetermined vehicle conditions, such as, ignition switched off seat belt unbuckled, transmission switched to park, emergency brake applied, vehicle door opened, vehicle door unlocked, and/or vehicle seat sensor switched to unoccupied.

  • Publication number: 20070218353
Abstract: A system and method disperses a sudden increase in heat generated by one battery cell to a large area including multiple battery cells, thereby preventing the sudden increase from being absorbed primarily by a small number of other battery cells, such as a single battery cell, that could otherwise cause the other battery cells to fail or release their own heat. The system and method also applies to other types of power storage devices, such as capacitors.

  • Patent number: 7180887
Abstract: A computer system having a network processor comprising a core processor and at least one microengine in operative communication with the core processor is provided. A table comprised of a plurality of entries with IP addresses associated therewith is built, wherein the entries are organized hierarchically according to an LC-Trie compression algorithm operating on the IP addresses. An Information packet is received within the computer system, wherein the information packet has a destination IP address associated therewith. The table is searched using an LC-Trie search algorithm to find a match between an IP address of an entry in the table and the destination IP address of the information packet. The information packet is transmitted to a forwarding IP address associated with the IP address of the matching entry. An interface is provided to accommodate communication between the core processor and microengine of the network processor.
