  • Publication number: 20210209214
Abstract: Methods and apparatuses are described for user authentication in a three-dimensional (3D) alternative reality software application. A computing device coupled to an alternative reality viewing device generates a 3D virtual environment for display in the alternative reality viewing device, the 3D virtual environment comprising a plurality of 3D objects. The computing device identifies a subset of the plurality of 3D objects selected by the user of the alternative reality viewing device. The computing device captures a first set of actions of the user with respect to the subset of 3D objects, including recording a sequence of the first set of actions. The computing device generates a multidimensional authentication credential for the user based upon the first set of actions and stores the multidimensional authentication credential in a database.

  • Patent number: 11045116
Abstract: Methods for controlling in real time an aspect of a process in a mobile or wearable device with a cadence of the device user are described, where the cadence of the device user is determined with an update frequency greater than the user's step frequency, and the controlling is also performed with an update frequency greater than the user's step frequency. For example, the determination of the user's cadence may leverage a combination of frequency and time techniques, with the analysis of, for instance, substantial orientation changes experienced by the device, or the detection of abrupt changes in the user's cadence.

  • Patent number: 10957010
Abstract: The subject matter discussed herein relates to the automatic, real-time registration of pre-operative magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) data to intra-operative ultrasound (US) data (e.g., reconstructed images or unreconstructed data), such as to facilitate surgical guidance or other interventional procedures. In one such example, brain structures (or other suitable anatomic features or structures) are automatically segmented in pre-operative and intra-operative ultrasound data. Thereafter, anatomic structure (e.g., brain structure) guided registration is applied between pre-operative and intra-operative ultrasound data to account for non-linear deformation of the imaged anatomic structure. MR images that are pre-registered to pre-operative ultrasound images are then given the same nonlinear spatial transformation to align the MR images with intra-operative ultrasound images to provide surgical guidance.

  • Publication number: 20210077077
Abstract: The subject matter discussed herein relates to multi-modal image alignment to facilitate biopsy procedures and post-biopsy procedures. In one such example, prostate structures (or other suitable anatomic features or structures) are automatically segmented in pre-biopsy MR and pre-biopsy ultrasound images. Thereafter, pre-biopsy MR and pre-biopsy ultrasound contours are aligned. To account for non-linear deformation of the imaged anatomic structure, a patient-specific transformation model is trained via deep learning based at least in part on the pre-biopsy ultrasound images. The pre-biopsy ultrasound images that are overlaid with the pre-biopsy MR contours and based off the deformable transformation model are then aligned with the biopsy ultrasound images. Such real-time alignment using multi-modality imaging techniques provides guidance during the biopsy and post-biopsy system.

  • Publication number: 20210069818
Abstract: A guard for a welding gun having a trigger and a body includes a plate having two elongated sides, two ends, a front, and a back, and a first pair of flanges extending from the elongated sides of the plate and forming a first open channel with the back of the plate. A biasing member is secured to the back of the plate. The plate is pivotally secured to the welding gun body by fasteners engaging the first pair of flanges and the welding gun body, and at least a portion of the back of the plate overlies the welding gun trigger. A user may only activate the gun by applying enough pressure to the plate to engage the trigger.
