Abstract: In one embodiment, an improved handle (12) for attachment to a lacrosse head (10) is provided. The improved handle (12) includes a generally tubular member (14) having a top end (16) for attachment to a lacrosse head (18) and a bottom end (20) opposite thereto. The top end (16) and the bottom end (20) have a longitudinal reference line (22) extending generally therebetween. The lateral width of one portion of the generally tubular member (14) is larger than the lateral width of another portion of the generally tubular member (14), which is offset from the first portion along the longitudinal reference line (22).

Abstract: A kit (400) for use in performing joint arthroplasty is provided. The kit (400) includes a trial (12) and a reamer (2). The reamer (2) is for preparing a cavity (4) in the intramedullary canal (8) of a long bone (8) with the use of a driver (10) and to assist in performing a trial reduction. The reamer (2) includes a first portion (14) for placement at least partially in the cavity (4) of the long bone (8) and a second portion (16) operably connected to the first portion (14). The reamer (2) is removably connected to the driver (10) to rotate the reamer (2). The trial (12) is removably attachable to the reamer (2).

Abstract: A lacrosse head with improved weight and handling characteristics includes a frame element having a base portion, a scoop portion, and a pair of opposing sidewall portions extending between the base portion and the scoop portion. The frame element includes one or more cavities integrally formed within one or more of the sidewall portions, the base portion, and the scoop portion. In addition, the lacrosse head includes a no-skid surface integrated with a portion of the frame element. This surface is intended to create friction between the no-skid surface and a lacrosse ball, as well as to absorb kinetic energy of the lacrosse ball preventing the ball from inadvertently bouncing out of the lacrosse head or rattling therein.

Abstract: A pocket for a lacrosse head (10) includes a mesh portion (20) attached to the lacrosse head (10). The mesh portion (20) has a plurality of holes (22) therein. Furthermore, the mesh portion (20) has less than nine holes (22) disposed within a horizontal row between a pair of opposing sidewall portions (12) of the lacrosse head (10).

Abstract: A lacrosse head includes a base, a scoop, and a pair of sidewalls. The sidewalls include upper and lower rims and further include a dual flare configuration. The first flare is in a rear portion and is characterized by the upper rims of the sidewalls being spaced closer together to one another than the lower rims. The second flare begins from approximately the middle portion of the sidewalls and generally throughout the forward portion and is characterized by the upper rims of the sidewalls being spaced further apart from each other than the lower rims.

Abstract: A protective sports glove for the game of lacrosse having a cuff portion, a hand portion, a plurality of finger portions, and a thumb portion. The hand portion has a palm portion and a back portion. The back portion has a plurality of protective padded portions disposed thereon. A wrist guard is elastically coupled to the hand portion. A plurality of vent openings are formed in the back portion of the hand portion. A plurality of mesh portions are disposed on the palm portion in areas that are not intended to provide primary contact with a stick.

Abstract: A system for providing information related to an orthopaedic surgical procedure to a surgeon includes a user-worn computer coupled with a heads-up display. The user-worn computer and the heads-up display cooperate to display orthopaedic surgical information to the surgeon. The user-worn computer receives data from a first processing circuit and a second processing circuit. The first processing circuit determines navigational data based on data signals received from navigation sensors. The second processing circuit determines patient condition data based on data signals received from patient condition sensors. Additionally, the system may include one or more peripheral ports for receiving a removable memory device.

Abstract: A pitching screen which provides a first pitching lane and a second pitching lane in a single pitching screen configuration to allow both left-handed pitchers and right-handed pitchers to pitch without repositioning the pitching screen.

Abstract: A protective sports glove consisting of a padded outer glove and an inner form-fitting glove. The padded outer glove is similar to conventional protective gloves used in contact sports, but having a substantial portion of the palm removed (i.e. except for the finger palm portions). The smaller form-fitting glove is introduced to the wearer's hand prior to insertion within the padded outer glove and covers the cutout palm portion of the padded outer glove. In essence, the form-fitting glove acts as the palm portion for the padded outer glove.

Abstract: A lacrosse stick with replaceable modular handle sections includes a sectional handle, an interlocking mechanism for the sectional handle, and a head. The sectional handle includes an upper elongate section having both a top end and a locking bottom end and a lower elongate section having both a locking top end and a bottom end. The interlocking mechanism serves to interlock the locking bottom end of the upper elongate section with the locking top end of the lower elongate section. The head is mounted on the top end of the upper elongate section and includes both a closed-loop frame and a net suspended substantially within the confines of the frame. The interlocking mechanism can be unlocked so that either the upper elongate section or the lower elongate section of the sectional handle may be replaced as desired in a modular fashion with a substitutive elongate section.

Abstract: A upper body protective garment for cushioning blows imparted upon the wearer's body includes a chest protector portion, a back protector portion, and a pair of telescopic shoulder protector portions. These protector portions preferably form a single integral unit. Each telescopic shoulder protector portion includes an inner-shoulder protector portion and an outer-shoulder protector portion that is telescopically coupled to the inner-shoulder protector portion. The outer-shoulder protector portion is moveable between an extended position and a retracted position for allowing an individual wearing the protective garment to raise his arm without interference from the telescopic shoulder protector portion.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to a gripping tool for installing and removing a connector. The gripping tool includes a first body member and a second body member. The first body member defines a first jaw portion and a first handle portion. The first jaw portion includes a first tip. The second body member defines a second jaw portion and a second handle portion. The second jaw portion includes a second tip. The first and the second handle portions are coupled to one another at distal ends for pivoting movement about an axis between an open position and a gripping position. The first and second tips include gripping means for securely engaging the connector positioned between the first and second jaw portions in response to the first and second body members being moved from the open position to the gripping position.

Abstract: A pocket for a lacrosse head (10) includes a netting portion (20) attached to the lacrosse head (10). The netting portion (20) has a plurality of holes (22) therein. The netting portion (20) is characterized by a middle section (28) with a plurality of center holes (32) therein intended to grip a lacrosse ball (24) and provide enhanced ball control characteristics. The netting portion (20) further includes at least one peripheral section (30) with a plurality of peripheral holes (34) therein capable of funneling the lacrosse ball (24) toward the middle section (28) and improving ball retention capabilities of the lacrosse head (10).

Abstract: A lacrosse head (10) is provided for improving ball retention and throwing accuracy. The lacrosse head (10) includes a pair of opposing sidewall portions (14) each having a top end, a bottom end, and an inner intermediate section with a shelf (28) integrated therein. Each shelf assists a user in retaining a lacrosse ball within the lacrosse head (10). The top ends of the opposing sidewall portions (14) are connected to each other by a scoop portion (16) that has a non-skid surface formed thereon for gripping the lacrosse ball. The bottom ends of the opposing sidewall portions (14) are connected by a base portion (18).

Abstract: A coupling for a lacrosse stick having a lacrosse handle and a lacrosse head includes a handle-mating portion receiving a portion of the lacrosse handle. The coupling also includes a head-mating portion sized for reception within a receiving portion of the lacrosse head. The head-mating portion couples to the handle-mating portion such that the handle-mating portion extends away from the head-mating portion.

Abstract: A handle for a lacrosse head is provided. The handle includes a hollow metal tube having an interior surface and an exterior surface. The hollow metal tube also has a first end for communicating with a throat portion of a lacrosse head and a second end opposing the first end. The exterior surface includes a plurality of sidewalls meeting at a plurality of intersections. The intersections have cross-sectional widths of greater magnitude than the sidewalls.

Abstract: A lacrosse handle having two sidewalls each with a channel and two arched walls extending between the sidewalls is disclosed herein. The channels contribute to increased gripping ability by the user and overall increased strength of the handle. Each channel is capable of receiving an insert that includes individualized information, for example, a school name or colors. Further, one of the arched walls may have a textured surface and the other arched wall may have a smooth surface to provide the user with a more accurate handle to head orientation than conventional lacrosse handles.

Abstract: A lacrosse head for use with a lacrosse handle includes a frame element including an arcuate wall, a scoop opposing the arcuate wall, and a pair of opposing sidewalls. The sidewalls generally extend between the arcuate wall and the scoop. The frame element has a socket extending rearwardly therefrom for receipt of a handle therein. The lacrosse head has a plurality of net attachment means formed therein for attachment of lacrosse net thereto. The lacrosse head has a pocket area defined by a lower portion of the arcuate wall, the scoop, and a lower portion of each of the pair of opposing sidewalls. The lacrosse head also has a catching area defined by an upper portion of the arcuate wall, the scoop, and an upper portion of each of the pair of opposing sidewalls. The catching area of the head is larger than the pocket area.
