Abstract: A lacrosse head (10) with a substantially narrow pocket and lower manufacturing costs is provided. In one embodiment, this lacrosse head (10) includes a one-piece integral frame element (18) comprised of a base portion (24), a pair of sidewalls (20) diverging from the base portion (24), and a scoop portion (22) connecting the sidewalls (20) opposite the base portion (24). This lacrosse head (10) further includes a pair of flaps (12) coupled to the sidewalls (20) by an overmolding process. These flaps (12) extend inwardly and rearwardly from their respective sidewalls (20) toward a centerline (26) of the lacrosse head (10). Each flap (12) has a series of holes (28) formed therein for receiving a netting (14) and attaching the netting (14) thereto. As a result, these flaps (12) narrow the width of the pocket and decrease lateral ball movement within the lacrosse head (10).

Abstract: A lacrosse goalie glove has a cuff portion for engaging at least a portion of a wearer's forearm and a hand portion coupled to the cuff portion. The hand portion has a palm portion, an opposing backside portion, an inner side portion, and an outer side portion. The hand portion has a plurality of finger portions secured to and extending therefrom for receipt of a wearer's fingers. The hand portion has a thumb portion secured to and extending therefrom. The hand portion has a flange portion extending from the outer side portion thereof.

Abstract: A lacrosse head with improved weight and handling characteristics includes a frame element having a base portion, a scoop portion, and a pair of opposing sidewall portions extending between the base portion and the scoop portion. The frame element includes one or more cavities integrally formed within one or more of the sidewall portions, the base portion, and the scoop portion. In addition, the lacrosse head includes a no-skid surface integrated with a portion of the frame element. This surface is intended to create friction between the no-skid surface and a lacrosse ball, as well as to absorb kinetic energy of the lacrosse ball preventing the ball from inadvertently bouncing out of the lacrosse head or rattling therein.

Abstract: A lacrosse head for use with a lacrosse handle includes a frame element including an arcuate wall, a scoop opposing the arcuate wall, and a pair of opposing sidewalls. The sidewalls generally extend between the arcuate wall and the scoop. The frame element has a socket extending rearwardly therefrom for receipt of a handle therein. The lacrosse head has a plurality of net attachment means formed therein for attachment of lacrosse net thereto. The lacrosse head has a pocket area defined by a lower portion of the arcuate wall, the scoop, and a lower portion of each of the pair of opposing sidewalls. The lacrosse head also has a catching area defined by an upper portion of the arcuate wall, the scoop, and an upper portion of each of the pair of opposing sidewalls. The catching area of the head is larger than the pocket area.

Abstract: A protective sport helmet, such as for lacrosse includes a hard shell portion. The hard shell portion is constructed so as to provide protection to a wearer's head. The inner side of the hard shell portion includes a lining portion that is secured thereto. A chin strap portion is includes for attachment to the hard shell portion at a plurality of attachment points. The hard shell portion includes a ledge portion that extends generally forwardly therefrom. A visor portion is secured to the hard shell portion and overlies the ledge portion. A facemask portion is secured to both the hard shell portion and the ledge portion in order to improve the structural integrity of the helmet.

Abstract: A non-skid lacrosse ball for gripping a lacrosse head and a netting attached to the lacrosse head is provided. The non-skid lacrosse ball is a spherical ball having one or more non-skid surfaces formed substantially thereacross. In one embodiment, the non-skid surface is a textured surface comprised of relatively small surface structures that are integral parts of the spherical ball. Furthermore, both the non-skid surface and the spherical ball are comprised of an elastomer material.

The lacrosse head (10) includes a pair of opposing sidewall portions (14) each having a top end, a bottom end, and an inner intermediate section with a shelf (28) integrated therein. Each shelf assists a user in retaining a lacrosse ball within the lacrosse head (10). The top ends of the opposing sidewall portions (14) are connected to each other by a scoop portion (16) that has a non-skid surface formed thereon for gripping the lacrosse ball. The bottom ends of the opposing sidewall portions (14) are connected by a base portion (18).

These bands (18, 20) overlay the inner lining (14) of the padding element (12) and are intended to secure the no-slip elbow pad (10) to the user's arm. The inner lining (14) has at least one friction element (28, 30) integrated thereon. Each friction element (28, 30) is intended to engage the user's arm to prevent the no-slip elbow pad (10) from sliding out of a desired position.

Abstract: A protective garment (10) is provided for cushioning blows imparted upon the wearer's body. Preferably, the protective garment (10) is an upper body protection garment (10) that is intended to cushion blows imparted upon the upper body of a user. The upper body protective garment (10) includes a chest protector portion (12), a back protector portion, and a pair of shoulder protector portions (14). These protector portions (12, 14) preferably form a single integral unit. An absorbing cap (18) is preferably located on each of the shoulder protector portions (14) and the chest protector portion (12). The absorbing cap (18) includes an inner shell (22) that is secured to the protector portion (12, 14) and a resilient outer shell (20) that is secured to the protector portion (12, 14) about its periphery (28) but has a portion that is spaced apart from and above the stiff inner member to form a cavity (24) therebetween.

The netting portion (20) further includes at least one peripheral section (30) with a plurality of peripheral holes (34) therein capable of funneling the lacrosse ball (24) toward the middle section (28) and improving ball retention capabilities of the lacrosse head (10).

Abstract: An improved method and structure for purification of an acid gas stream by using raw fuel gas as a stripper to remove the BTEX and VOCs from the liquid amine stream. The improved method is particularly useful for purification of acid gas streams with BTEX contaminant levels in excess of environmentally acceptable levels for standard processing. Raw fuel gas is utilized at moderate temperatures and pressures, the uptake of BTEX and VOCs reduces the level of these compounds in the waste amine stream to environmentally acceptable levels, and the remaining contaminants may then be dealt with by ordinary means. Levels of H2S and CO2. in the liquid amine stream are also reduced.

Abstract: A device has processing hardware to carry out a blood processing procedure. A processing control manager resides on the device to monitor status conditions over time during the blood processing procedure. A data interface also resides on the device. The data interface includes a flash memory data storage medium formatted to allocate discrete block file spaces to receive data. Chronologic data or time-specific data, are created based upon sensed conditions by a data generator task, which also resides on the device. A file manager task appends chronologic data to an allocated file space to create a chronologic block file, which, when read, provides a time-ordered account of processing activities or hardware conditions. The file manager also operates to block-write time-specific data to another allocated file space, which, when read, creates a snap-shot of processing conditions at a given point in time. The data file structure created on the flash memory medium withstands corruption of data due to power failure.

Abstract: A protective sports glove for the game of lacrosse having a cuff portion, a hand portion, a plurality of finger portions, and a thumb portion. The hand portion has a palm portion and a back portion. The back portion has a plurality of protective padded portions disposed thereon. A wrist guard is elastically coupled to the hand portion. A plurality of vent openings are formed in the back portion of the hand portion. A plurality of mesh portions are disposed on the palm portion in areas that are not intended to provide primary contact with a stick.

Abstract: A lacrosse head having an open frame with sidewalk that curve continuously from the base to the lip of the frame so as to define a curved scoop-like frame geometry when viewed in side elevation. The frame base has an angulated ball rest surface and a shoulder recessed therefrom at which a net is attached to the base. The lip that interconnects the frame sidewalls remote from the base has an outside surface angle that cooperates with the scoop-like geometry of the sidewalls to enhance control of ground balls. The overall scoop-like construction of the head frame provides improved feel during play, and enhanced ball control and pass/shot velocity. The recessed base shoulder, particularly when combined with the angulated ball-rest surface, protects the net attachment knots from abrasion, and also improves ball control during one-handed vertical cradling.
