  • Publication number: 20170212190
Abstract: A system for magnetic anomaly detection is described. The system may include a nitrogen vacancy (NV) diamond material comprising a plurality of NV centers. A controller modulates a first code packet and controls a first magnetic field generator to apply a first time varying magnetic field at the NV diamond material based on the modulated first code packet. The controller modulates a second code packet and control a second magnetic field generator to apply a second time varying magnetic field at the NV diamond material based on the modulated second code packet, wherein the first code packet and the second code packet are binary sequences which have a low cross correlation with each other. The controller determines a magnitude and direction of the magnetic field at the NV diamond material, and determines a magnetic vector anomaly based on the determined magnitude and direction of the magnetic field.

  • Publication number: 20170208733
Abstract: A lift attachment system for providing adjustment such as lifting and lower to various attachments being towed by a vehicle. The system generally includes a base frame which is removably connected to a vehicle, such as at its rear frame. A support frame is pivotally connected to the base frame. An actuator is connected between the support frame and the base frame such that the support frame may pivotally adjust with respect to the base frame. The support frame includes a width-adjustable attachment mount which is adapted to removably receive one of a plurality of different attachments. By removably connecting the attachment to the support frame, the attachment may be pivotally adjusted (such as lifted or lowered) via activation of the actuator. By connecting the base frame to a vehicle, one may adjust an attachment while in use on a vehicle to improve efficiency and prevent constant manual adjustments.

  • Publication number: 20170204652
Abstract: An adjustable mullion receptacle includes a two-sided safety block adapted to sit in the well portion of the mullion receptacle. A receiving block face side of the block is adapted to fit into the hollow bottom of a hollow mullion tube. The opposite side of the block defines a smooth safety face that can be used to set in the receptacle well when the mullion is removed for any purpose. The block then fills the well and provides a smooth surface over the receptacle well.

  • Patent number: 9707911
Abstract: The present invention extends to methods, systems, and computer program products for identifying a person as a driver of a vehicle. Aspects include using in-vehicle sensors to increase the accuracy of driver identification initially determined using other mechanisms. As such, at least two different types of sensory devices can be utilized to gather data in an effort to identify the driver. The data gathered from the first sensor (e.g., at a key fob) is processed to identify the driver based on learned characteristic patterns, such as the driver's gait, before the driver enters the vehicle. The data gathered from the second sensor (e.g., in an in-vehicle face or voice recognition system) is processed to confirm the driver. The confirmation is based on biometric data and learned characteristic patterns. Data from the second sensor is provided back to the first sensor to confirm the driver identity.

  • Publication number: 20170179971
Abstract: A flash analog-to-digital converter (ADC) includes comparators that convert an analog input signal to a digital output signal. Offsets of these comparators introduce noise and can hurt the performance of the ADC. Thus, these comparators are calibrated using calibration codes. Conventional calibration methods determine these calibration codes by removing the ADC from an input signal. Otherwise, it is difficult to distinguish the noise from the signal in the calibration measurement. In contrast, an embodiment can determine the calibration codes while the ADC converts the input signal to a digital signal. Such an embodiment can be achieved by a frequency-domain technique. In an embodiment employing a frequency-domain power meter, an input signal can be removed from the power measurement. This removal enables accurate measurement of in-band noise without having the measurement be corrupted by input signal power.

  • Publication number: 20170179970
Abstract: An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is a device that can include a reference shuffler and a loop filter. An ADC can achieve better performance with incremental adjustment of a pointer of the reference shuffler, changing coefficients of the loop filter, and storing calibration codes of the ADC in a non-volatile memory. By incrementally adjusting a pointer of the reference shuffler, a calibration can be performed more efficiently than with a random adjustment of the pointer. By temporarily changing the loop filter coefficients, a greater amount of activity can be introduced into the loop filter. This activity can allow the calibration to proceed more efficiently. By storing the calibration codes in a non-volatile memory, a search space for calibration codes can be reduced. Thus, a calibration can occur more quickly, and the calibration itself can be improved.

  • Publication number: 20170139017
Abstract: A system for magnetic detection may include a nitrogen vacancy (NV) diamond material, a radio frequency (RF) excitation source, an optical excitation source, an optical detector, a magnetic field generator, and a controller. The controller may control the excitation sources to apply a first pulse sequence. The controller may receive a first light detection signal due to the first pulse sequence, measure first and second values of the first light detection signal at first and second reference periods, and compute a first measurement. The controller may further control the excitation sources to apply a second pulse sequence, receive a second light detection signal due to the second pulse sequence, measure first and second values of the second light detection signal at first and second reference periods, and compute a second measurement. The first and second measurements may be based on high and low resonance frequencies of the NV diamond material.
