  • Patent number: 10009575
Abstract: A distributed storage of sequential video frames is designed without compromising data reliability. Capitalizing on the loss-tolerant nature of video data, user experience is maintained by leveraging higher capacity drives with lower latency, higher throughput and more efficient utilization of provisioned storage. No RAID, replication or erasure computations are necessary. There are a few optimization to this method which improves reliability, such as reliably storing video data in partitioned drives, making data storage configuration map known to each partition, implementing a strategy for avoiding loss of a common moment, preventing potential loss of reference frames, leveraging different sized drives, avoiding pitfalls associated with data getting stored disproportionately to large drives etc. Though video streaming data has been used as an illustrative example of loss-tolerant data, the methods and systems can be applied to any type of loss-tolerant data.

  • Patent number: 9982476
Abstract: An adjustable mullion receptacle includes a two-sided safety block adapted to sit in the well portion of the mullion receptacle. A receiving block face side of the block is adapted to fit into the hollow bottom of a hollow mullion tube. • Publication number: 20180126431
Abstract: A method for improving the flatness of a rolled sheet or strip includes the application of differential cooling. A cooling agent can be selectively applied along the width of the strip. More cooling can be applied to the edges of the strip, where tension is greatest, to increase tension at the edges. The strip can be allowed to lengthen at these edges, which can improve flatness. In some embodiments, a closed loop flatness control system is used to measure the flatness of a strip and automatically adjust the differential cooling based on the measurement.

  • Patent number: 9927917
Abstract: An electronic device includes a display including a touch sensor, a contextual sensor configured to provide data indicative of an operating condition of the electronic device, one or more memories in which touch input instructions, touch event mapping instructions, and a touch event mapping model are stored, and a processor coupled to the memory. The processor is configured through execution of the touch input instructions to obtain data indicative of an initial assessment of touch event position via the touch sensor. The touch event mapping model maps the initial assessment of touch event position to an adjusted touch event position as a function of the data indicative of the operating condition of the electronic device.

  • Patent number: 9912342
Abstract: An analog-to-digital converter (ADC) is a device that can include a reference shuffler and a loop filter. An ADC can achieve better performance with incremental adjustment of a pointer of the reference shuffler, changing coefficients of the loop filter, and storing calibration codes of the ADC in a non-volatile memory. By incrementally adjusting a pointer of the reference shuffler, a calibration can be performed more efficiently than with a random adjustment of the pointer. By temporarily changing the loop filter coefficients, a greater amount of activity can be introduced into the loop filter. This activity can allow the calibration to proceed more efficiently. By storing the calibration codes in a non-volatile memory, a search space for calibration codes can be reduced. Thus, a calibration can occur more quickly, and the calibration itself can be improved.

  • Patent number: 9912144
Abstract: Delta-sigma modulators do not handle overload well, and often become unstable if the input goes beyond the full-scale range of the modulator. To provide overload protection, an improved technique embeds an overload detector in the delta sigma modulator. When an overload condition is detected, coefficient(s) of the delta sigma modulator is adjusted to accommodate for the overloaded input. The improved technique advantageously allows the delta sigma modulator to handle overload gracefully without reset, and offers greater dynamic range at reduced resolution. Furthermore, the coefficient(s) of the delta sigma modulator can be adjusted in such a way to ensure the noise transfer function is not affected.
