Publication number: 20240277685Abstract: Veterinary pharmaceutical compositions for direct systemic introduction, also known as DSI pharmaceutical compositions. One veterinary pharmaceutical composition for direct systemic introduction includes about 10-17 dry mass % bovine gelatin; about 10-17 dry mass % mannitol; about 0-1 dry mass % of a surfactant; and about 65-80 dry mass % of the active pharmaceutical ingredient which is a proton pump inhibitor. A method of manufacturing a veterinary pharmaceutical composition for direct systemic introduction includes combining one or more pharmacologically inactive compounds to form a first solution; using one or more surfactants to form a second solution; adding an active pharmaceutical ingredient to the second solution to form a first mixture; adding the first solution to the first mixture to form a pre-formulation; freezing the pre-formulation; and lyophilizing the pre-formulation.Type: ApplicationFiled: May 3, 2024Publication date: August 22, 2024Applicant: NewMarket Pharmaceuticals LLCInventors: Mark RIDALL, David ROCK

Patent number: 11790527Abstract: Systems and methods are provided for automatically imaging and analyzing cell samples in an incubator. An actuated microscope operates to generate images of samples within wells of a sample container across days, weeks, or months. A plurality of images is generated for each scan of a particular well, and the images within such a scan are used to image and analysis metabolically active cells in the well. Tins analysis includes generating a “range image” by subtracting the minimum intensity value, across the scan, for each pixel from the maximum intensity value. This range image thus emphasizes cells or portions of cells that exhibit changes in activity over a scan period (e.g., neurons, myocytes, cardiomyocytes) while de-emphasizing regions that exhibit consistently high intensities when images (e.g., regions exhibiting a great deal of autofluorescence unrelated to cell activity).Type: GrantFiled: September 8, 2022Date of Patent: October 17, 2023Assignee: Sartorius BioAnalytical Instruments, Inc.Inventors: Daniel Appledorn, Eric Endsley, Nevine Holtz, Brad Neagle, David Rock, Kirk Schroeder

Patent number: 11464466Abstract: Teeth are screened for periodontal disease using digitized images manipulated and annotated on a processor. A digitized radiographic image of a tooth shows locations of a bone boundary and a cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) of the tooth. The digitized radiographic image is marked on the processor with a location on the bone boundary and with a pair of CEJ points at opposite ends of the CEJ visible in the radiograph. A ratio between (a) a distance between the bone boundary location and the adjacent CEJ point as numerator and (b) a distance between the CEJ points as denominator is calculated on the processor and compared with a threshold ratio-value for a corresponding tooth from a database accessible by the processor. A calculated ratio-value which is greater than the database threshold ratio-value is indicative of periodontal disease in the tooth. The probability of the correct diagnostic decision is determined by the relative magnitude of the calculated ratio-value and the threshold ratio-value.Type: GrantFiled: July 9, 2019Date of Patent: October 11, 2022Assignee: NovoDynamics, Inc.Inventors: Mark Brooks, David Ei, Sean McMillan, David Rock, Steven Schlosser

Publication number: 20210012426Abstract: A method is performed on a processor for detecting duplication anomalies in a set of patient dental insurance records submitted as part of a dental insurance claim. At least one hash code is generated for at least some of the patient dental insurance record documents. A Hamming Distance is calculated by comparing the hash code(s) of recently submitted patient dental insurance record documents against a database which includes hash codes generated from previous dental insurance claims. Those dental insurance forms are flagged for further human review if the calculated Hamming Distance between the compared hash codes is less than a threshold amount.Type: ApplicationFiled: June 18, 2020Publication date: January 14, 2021Applicant: NovoDynamics, Inc.Inventors: Mark Brooks, Sean McMillan, David Rock, Steven Schlosser
