Publication number: 20200015764Abstract: Teeth are screened for periodontal disease using digitized images manipulated and annotated on a processor. A digitized radiographic image of a tooth shows locations of a bone boundary and a cemento-enamel junction (CEJ) of the tooth. The digitized radiographic image is marked on the processor with a location on the bone boundary and with a pair of CEJ points at opposite ends of the CEJ visible in the radiograph. A ratio between (a) a distance between the bone boundary location and the adjacent CEJ point as numerator and (b) a distance between the CEJ points as denominator is calculated on the processor and compared with a threshold ratio-value for a corresponding tooth from a database accessible by the processor. A calculated ratio-value which is greater than the database threshold ratio-value is indicative of periodontal disease in the tooth. The probability of the correct diagnostic decision is determined by the relative magnitude of the calculated ratio-value and the threshold ratio-value.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 9, 2019Publication date: January 16, 2020Applicant: NovoDynamics, Inc.Inventors: Mark Brooks, David Ei, Sean McMillan, David Rock, Steven Schlosser

Publication number: 20110153087Abstract: A system for causing a solar collector to track the sun can include a collector controller that can control one or more solar collectors in a solar field, where the collector controller has one or more processors. The collector controller can estimate a sun angle, determine an angle of the one or more solar collectors with respect to the sun based at least partly on an inclination angle of the one or more solar collectors, and compare the estimated sun angle with the angle of the one or more solar collectors to determine a desired movement of the one or more solar collectors. Further, the collector controller can actuate the motor to effectuate the desired movement until the angle of the one or more solar collectors is within a hysteresis value within a virtual track deadband.Type: ApplicationFiled: July 27, 2010Publication date: June 23, 2011Applicant: ACCIONA SOLAR POWER, INC.Inventors: Gilbert Cohen, David Rock
