  • Patent number: 4590689
Abstract: A cushion-like, shock-absorbent insole for footwear comprises two vinyl sheets forming an airtight compartment and sealing therein one or more sheets of resilient foam. Vent holes arranged in at least one of the vinyl sheets, preferably at the heel and metatarsal areas, act as metering valves in conjunction with the inside surface of the shoe sole so that air trapped in the foam material cannot instantaneously escape and both cushioning and massaging are provided.

  • Patent number: 4255908
Abstract: A heat insulation panel is adapted to be mounted in a window frame and includes a pair of spaced substantially flat face sheets connected by a plurality of connector strips extending therebetween. The peripheral edge of the panel is sealed by a gusset strip in air tight relation. The gusset strip has a firmer hand than the face sheets and is approximately 25% heavier in gauge so that upon inflation the edge of the panel remains substantially flat in order to form a broad substantially air tight seal with the periphery of a window frame in which the panel is inserted. The gusset edge also can cooperate with the edge of an adjacent panel to form a substantially air tight seal therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4204520
Abstract: A roofing tile having upper and lower ends and upper and lower surfaces, a transverse groove of substantially semicircular cross section in the upper surface of the roofing tile adjacent its upper end, and a transverse groove of substantially semicircular cross section in the lower surface of the roofing tile adjacent its lower end. A solar water heating system incorporated in a roof comprising roofing tiles having overlapping portions provided with registering transverse grooves of substantially semicircular cross section facing each other, with thermally conductive tubes in the registering grooves. A roofing tile which is a clay tile containing a thermally conductive material, with at least the exposed portion of the upper surface having a permanent black coating to enhance solar heat absorption.
