  • Publication number: 20070079309
Abstract: A system and method for generating sequences of manual operations, using a structured process and grammar, suitable for implementation in systems integration. The method of the invention allows manual operations can be defined locally, or by remote subject matter experts (SMEs), using a Manual Operations Grammar, with the system allowing the definition of methods for validating measurements, reporting, and optimizing a set of one or more operations and/or processes. As part of the grammar, formalized hooks can be implemented between a plurality of manual tasks, operation and/or process steps, and a plurality of automated tasks, operation and/or process steps.

  • Publication number: 20070074151
Abstract: A method and system for providing predictive quality analysis during software creation/development. A system of computation is provided that utilizes a combination of objective measures and subjective inputs to determine a final quality of the software that is being developed. In addition to using objective measures, in a unique, consistent, and deliberate fashion, subjective measures are also utilized to increase/improve the validity of the predictive quality analysis. The subjective elements utilized are ones that provide good indicators of the likelihood of success and customer satisfaction from a software quality standpoint.

  • Patent number: 7179205
Abstract: A differential motion machine for closely simulating natural human motion is provided. A user mountable carriage is designed to slide freely, in the fore and aft directions. The carriage contains a power transfer element, such as pedals, arm levers or the like, which convert the user's motions into a means for propelling the carriage relative to a dynamic element. A dynamic element generally consists of an endless belt or the like driven by a motor or by a slight incline to a base frame which engages the power transfer element. Additionally, a force element causes a force against the carriage preferable relative to the dynamic element. This force to the carriage simulates the drag and other resistances encountered in nature.

  • Patent number: 7124770
Abstract: The present invention relates to a mechanism for preventing damage to the actuator of a hydraulic choke valve in the event of excessive backpressure on the outlet of the choke. The backpressure relief device is applicable to a choke valve which meters flow from a high pressure annular region around the axially reciprocable choke throttling member into a low pressure exit channel coaxial with the throttling member. In particular, a shearable means is used to connect the reciprocable control shank of the actuator to the throttling valve member of the choke valve. In the event of excessive pressure on the exit channel of the choke valve, the shearable means will shear, thereby fully opening the valve and permitting the excessive pressure to escape. The shearable means is readily replaced so that the valve easily can be put back into operating condition.

  • Publication number: 20060226104
Abstract: A system for dividing a series of products within a display case, such as a freezer. The system includes a base positionable within the display case between products that are to be separated. The base is preferably formed from molded plastic and includes a series of horizontally extending support legs. The base includes a pair of parallel support arms that extend perpendicular to the support legs and are spaced from each other to define a receiving gap. The receiving gap is sized to receive a divider that can be positioned within the receiving gap. The base includes a series of support tabs each extending from the bottom wall of the base into the receiving gap to reduce the effective depth of the receiving gap. Each of the support tabs can be selectively removed from the base to increase the depth of the receiving gap. The depth of the receiving gap controls the amount of the divider extending past the top edge of the base.

  • Publication number: 20060208074
Abstract: A system for dynamically pricing media content is operatively coupled to one or more clients over a network. The system dynamically adjusts pricing of the media content and delivers the media content to the clients that order the media content at a dynamically adjusted price. The price can be dynamically adjusted based on profit optimization. Alternatively or additionally, the price can be adjusted based to time between purchases. Further, the system is capable of rewarding institutions for allowing their members to access the system.

  • Publication number: 20060155863
Abstract: A system and method are provided for filtering data be pushed from a server to a communication device in accordance with a set of predefined rules. Data to be pushed to the communication device is received at the server. A content filter engine is used to determine at the server whether the data meets criteria established by the set of predefined rules, the set of predefined rules having been established by a user of the communication device via a user interface. The data is transmitted to the communication device only if the data is not filtered by the set of predefine rules.

  • Publication number: 20060083862
Abstract: The invention provides a method and apparatus to impart a coating layer on the surface of decorative mouldings that are widely used in the externally insulated finishing systems (EIFS) in the construction industry. The method is a sequence of mechanically advancing a core, constructed from pre-formed expanded polystyrene (EPS, in a straight horizontal plane through a coating chamber/hopper with templates conforming to the desired decorative profile. The apparatus is a rectangular box with a funneled opening at the top with adjustable internal plates to direct the material from the sides of the box toward the pre-formed core that is being coated. Two plates on the bottom of the box support the pre-formed core and are adjustable to leave an opening in the center so that excess material can fall through the bottom after coating the last core.

  • Publication number: 20060026516
Abstract: Methods, apparatus, and computer program products for importing text into word processing documents. A target string that is specified by a user within a word processing document is identified, and references are searched for occurrences of the target string. Passages from the references that include the target string are displayed to the user. The user indicates text to be selected from a displayed passage, for example by highlighting the selected text. The selected text is then inserted into the word processing document.

  • Publication number: 20050267981
Abstract: Server side detection of client popup blocking is performed by a popup verification engine that inserts a popup window command in a response to a client request of a download and detects client popup blocking where a request by the client to download the popup window is not received in a predetermined time period. A unique identification code generator generates unique identification codes which are inserted into content to generate a popup window. Detection of an HTTP request, such as a referrer tag having the unique identification code, at a server indicates a client request for the popup window, which is confirmed by subsequent download requests, such as a graphics request. Corrective action is taken for clients that block popups to ensure that the client is able to download content from the server, such as re-directing the client to a network site that does not use popups or giving a notice to the user of the client to disable popup blocking.

  • Publication number: 20050242463
Abstract: A method and apparatus to produce starter strips and decorative mouldings that are widely used in the construction industry. The method is a sequence of advancing a core, constructed from pre-formed expanded polystyrene (EPS), in a straight horizontal plane through a coating chamber with constraining devices preventing lateral and vertical movement. The coating chamber is filled with a thick liquid stucco or plaster or cement-like mixture and imparts a layer of the liquid onto the preformed core. The thickness of the coating is controlled with templates having an opening correspondingly larger than the core size and with the desired profile. The apparatus can be configured to coat a portion of an elongate surface in the case of producing a starter strip. In the case of a decorative moulding, the coating application can be limited to the exposed decorative surfaces only.
