Abstract: In some embodiments, a cylindrical smoking device made from a rectilinear sheet of flexible paper-like material. The sheet is die cut to form a taller portion and a shorter portion. The shorter portion is folded into an accordion shaped member. The longer portion is rolled around the accordion shaped member form in a cylindrical shape where the accordion shaped member is captured within the cylindrical shape. The cylindrical shape is retained by gluing the trailing edge of the taller portion to a location at the mid portion of the taller portion. The recess formed between the top of the cylindrical shape and the top of the accordion portion is capable of retaining a small amount of smoking material.

Abstract: A helical shaped filter made of biodegradable material with a helical shaped member made of biodegradable material, the helical shape having an S shaped cross section, the biodegradable capable of withstanding temperatures as high as one hundred and eighty degrees Fahrenheit, the helical shaped member being fitted into the end portion of a cigarette containing shredded botanical material, the helical shaped member having a wall thickness of approximately fifty thousandths of an inch, the helical shaped member having an overall length of approximately three quarters of an inch to one and one quarter of an inch, and the helical shaped member having an overall diameter of approximately three hundred thousandths of an inch. A preferred embodiment includes the biodegradable material is baked ground wheat, beet, rice, corn, lentil, or quinoa flour.

The sheet is approximately L shaped where the bottom portion of the L shape is folded into an accordion shape and the tall portion of the L shape is rolled into a cylindrical shape with the accordion shape trapped within the cylindrical shape forming a breathable base surface. The tall portion of the L shape has a leading edge and a trailing edge that, when rolled, overlap each other and are adhered together by standard means. A preferred embodiment includes the height of the tall portion of the L shape can vary depending on the amount of botanical material to be inserted in the botanical cartridge.
