  • Patent number: 11092029
Abstract: A shroud hanger assembly or shroud assembly is provided for a gas turbine engine wherein a hanger includes a radially depending and axially extending arm. The arm or retainer engages a pocket formed in a shroud so as to retain the shroud in a desired position relative to the hanger. An aft retaining structure is provided on the hanger and provides a seat for a seal structure which biases the retainer so that the arm of the hanger maintains engagement in the shroud pocket. A baffle may be utilized at the hanger to cool at least some portion of the shroud.

Abstract: A radar system includes a signal generator to generate a linear frequency modulated continuous wave signal as a base chirp, and one or more frequency shifters to generate respective one or more additional chirps from the base chirp. The radar system also includes two or more switches. One of the two or more switches obtains a portion of the base chirp as a base transmit signal, and remaining ones of the two or more switches respectively obtain a portion of each of the one or more additional chirps as one or more additional transmit signals for transmission by the radar system. At least a portion of the base transmit signal and the one or more additional transmit signals overlaps in time.

  • Publication number: 20210011150
Abstract: Presented are target object detection systems for deriving host vehicle velocities, methods for making/using such systems, and motor vehicles with host vehicle velocity estimation capabilities. A method of automating operation of vehicles includes an electronic transmitter of a vehicle's target object detection system emitting electromagnetic signals, and an electronic receiver receiving multiple reflection echoes caused by each electromagnetic signal reflecting off target objects within proximity of the vehicle. A vehicle controller determines a relative velocity vector for each target object based on these reflection echoes. The relative velocity vectors are assigned to discrete vector clusters. The controller estimates a host vehicle velocity vector as an average of the relative velocity vectors in the vector cluster containing the most relative velocity vectors and having the largest spatial spread.

  • Publication number: 20200348396
Abstract: Systems and methods to perform object surface estimation using a radar system involve receiving reflected signals resulting from reflection of transmit signals by an object. The method includes processing the reflected signals to obtain an image. The image indicates an intensity associated with at least one set of angle values and a set of range values. The method also includes processing the image to provide the object surface estimation. The object surface estimation indicates a subset of the at least one set of angle values and associated ranges within the set of range values.

  • Publication number: 20200326417
Abstract: A system and method using a multi-node radar system involve receiving reflected signals at each node of the multi-node radar system, the reflected signals resulting from reflection of transmitted signals by one or more objects, and generating velocity lines associated with each of the reflected signals received at each of the nodes, each velocity line being derived from a radial velocity Vr and an angle of arrival ? determined from the reflected signal received at the node. The method also includes determining one or more intersection points of the velocity lines, and estimating a velocity of each of the one or more objects based on the one or more intersection points. Each intersection point corresponds with the velocity for one of the one or more objects and the velocity is a relative velocity vector between the one of the one or more objects and the radar system.
