Abstract: Systems and processes for performing solid phase peptide synthesis are generally described. Solid phase peptide synthesis is a known process in which amino acid residues are added to peptides that have been immobilized on a solid support. In certain embodiments, the inventive systems and methods can be used to perform solid phase peptide synthesis quickly while maintaining high yields. • Publication number: 20220260166
Abstract: The present invention relates to adjustable flow control valves, for example to an Adjustable Pressure Limiting (APL) valve. The adjustable valve (2) described comprises a valve body (4) comprising a valve seat (6), a valve member (10) movable relative to the valve seat (6), a first valve cap (20), a second valve cap (50) and a biasing element (30) to bias the valve member (10) away from the first valve cap (20). The first valve cap (20) is movable to increase the biasing force applied by the biasing element (30). The second valve cap (50) is engageable with the first valve cap (20) to prevent such movement of the first valve cap (20) beyond a selected position, but to allow movement of the first valve cap (20) in an opposite direction, way from said position.

  • Publication number: 20220231760
Abstract: Methods, devices and systems for providing accurate measurements of timing errors using optical techniques are described. An example timing measurement device includes an optical hybrid that receives two optical pulse trains and produces two or more phase shifted optical outputs. The timing measurement device further includes two or more optical filters that receive the outputs of the optical hybrid to produce multiple pulse signals with distinctive frequency bands. The device also includes one or more photodetectors and analog-to-digital converters to receive to produce electrical signals in the digital domain corresponding to the optical outputs of the hybrid. A timing error associated with the optical pulse trains can be determined using the electrical signals in digital domain based on a computed phase difference between a first frequency band signal and a second frequency band signal and a computed frequency difference between the first frequency band signal and the second frequency band.

  • Publication number: 20220085887
Abstract: Devices, systems and methods for encoding information using optical components are described. Information associated with a first optical signal (e.g., an optical pump) is encoded onto the phase of a second optical signal (e.g., an optical probe) using cross phase modulation (XPM) in a non-linear optical medium. The optical signals are multiplexed together into the nonlinear optical medium. The probe experiences a modified index of refraction as it propagates through the medium and thus accumulates a phase change proportional to the intensity of the pump. The disclosed devices can be incorporated into larger components and systems for various applications such as scientific diagnostics, radar, remote sensing, wireless communications, and quantum computing that can benefit from encoding and generation of low noise, high resolution signals.

  • Patent number: 11243824
Abstract: Non-limiting examples of the present disclosure enable creation and management of representations of content through the execution of copy actions, paste actions or a combination thereof. An indication of a copy action is received that copies a content portion. The copy action is analyzed to generate a (live) representation of the content portion. Other examples of representations are also generatable including a static representation and/or a live non-editable representation. As an example, a live representation is an editable and synchronized representation of the content portion that is synchronized with original source content. The live representation comprises a selectable data link that links back to the original source content and an editable representation of the content portion. In response to receiving an indication of a paste action, the live representation of the content portion is automatically rendered inline within a graphical user interface of a host application/service endpoint.

  • Patent number: 11211060
Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods predict visemes from an audio sequence. In an example, a viseme-generation application accesses a first audio sequence that is mapped to a sequence of visemes. The first audio sequence has a first length and represents phonemes. The application adjusts a second length of a second audio sequence such that the second length equals the first length and represents the phonemes. The application adjusts the sequence of visemes to the second audio sequence such that phonemes in the second audio sequence correspond to the phonemes in the first audio sequence. The application trains a machine-learning model with the second audio sequence and the sequence of visemes. The machine-learning model predicts an additional sequence of visemes based on an additional sequence of audio.

  • Publication number: 20210188901
Abstract: Methods and system for solid phase peptide synthesis are provided. Solid phase peptide synthesis is a known process in which amino acid residues are added to peptides that have been immobilized on a solid support. New amino acid residues are added via a coupling reaction between an activated amino acid and an amino acid residue of the immobilized peptide. Amino acids may be activated using, e.g., a base and an activating agent. Certain inventive concepts, described herein, relate to methods and systems for the activation of amino acids. These systems and methods may allow for fewer side reactions and a higher yield compared to conventional activation techniques as well as the customization of the coupling reaction on a residue-by-residue basis without the need for costly and/or complex processes.
