  • Publication number: 20190329606
Abstract: A method of determining an orientation of a tire mounted device with respect to a wheel rim using an acceleration sensor, With the wheel in a designated orientation and not rotating, a polarity of acceleration along a vertical axis is determined. Then it is determined which of a first absolute orientation or a second absolute orientation the tire mounted device is in depending on the determined polarity. The determined absolute orientation is correlated with the designated orientation to determine which of a first or second orientation with respect to the wheel rim the tire mounted device is in.

  • Patent number: 10430492
Abstract: A system and method for determining the location of a wireless handset on a premises is described. The system comprises a plurality of beacons and a plurality of sensors associated with the premises. The sensors are configured to detect a radio frequency signal comprising a signal identifier from the beacons. A plurality of virtual reference point fingerprints are generated based on the beacon signal strengths detected by the sensors. The virtual reference points comprise signal strengths for each of the plurality of beacons estimated at intervals throughout the premises. The system further comprises a wireless handset configured to receive a handset fingerprint comprising a signal identifier and a signal strength from the beacons. The location of the wireless handset is determined based on a comparison between the handset fingerprint signal strengths and the signal strengths of a subset of the virtual reference point fingerprints.

  • Patent number: 10303338
Abstract: This disclosure describes techniques for appending representations of handwritten inscriptions into electronic books, such that electronic books may be customized through the use of inscriptions akin to physical books. To append inscriptions into physical books, a user may provide an inscription on a physical medium. An image of the physical medium including the inscription may be obtained, and the image may be embedded into contents of an electronic book, thus creating a copy of the electronic book that includes a custom inscription in addition to the book contents.

  • Publication number: 20190145731
Abstract: A gun rail accessory mounting system that is symmetrical in both the Y axis, forward to backwards plane, and in the Z axis, over and under plane is described. Additionally, the two mounting brackets can have similar external dimensions and form factors to allow full 3 axis symmetry. This symmetry allows for an accessory to be mounted on gun rails of the Picatinny, Weaver, Glock, or any other rail type, where a recoil locking slot is used, by simply inserting a screw in the appropriate screw hole. More particularly, the present invention allows for mounting an accessory, such as a video camera, that can point forwards or backwards relative to the gun muzzle while also allowing the user to have the recoil locking screw in various positions towards the forward or back of the mount depending on where on the rail the user desires the accessory to be mounted.

  • Publication number: 20190126694
Abstract: A method of locating a wheel-mounted electronic device, such as a tire pressure monitoring device. A wireless signal is transmitted from an interrogation device from each of a plurality of interrogation locations. The signals are received by the wheel-mounted device and received signal strength is measured for each interrogation location. The wheel-mounted device then transmits, in respect of each interrogation location, a wireless signal indicating the measured signal strength. These signals are received by the interrogation device which determines from them a location of the wheel-mounted device with respect to a wheel.

  • Patent number: 10169774
Abstract: A network based indoor positioning and geofencing system and method is described. Beacons are disposed within a physical premises and each beacon transmits a signal containing identifying information. A networked indoor positioning module receives measured reference points that include a measured beacon identifier and a measured signal strength. The networked indoor positioning module uses the measured reference points to generate calculated signal strength values for at least one detected beacon. At least one geofence is associated with the physical premises and the geofence includes some of the calculated signal strength values. A wireless device receives a beacon identifier and a beacon signal strength, when the wireless device is in or near a geofence associated the physical premises.
