    Abstract: An electric connector for mating with a complementary connector includes an insulation housing, at least an insulation displacement contact, and at least an insulated wire. The insulation housing includes two rows of contact holding portions which are respectively arranged on an upper and lower side of the insulation housing, and two rows of cable holding portions. The cable holding portions are arranged in correspondence with the contacting holding portions and each connected to its corresponding contacting holding portion for forming a passageway along a mating direction. The insulation displacement contact is holed in one of the contact holding portion. The insulated wire extends along the mating direction. And the wire includes a front portion inserted into one of the insulation displacement contact along a vertical direction and a sub-front portion received in one of the cable holding portions along the vertical direction.

The latch is received and held in the recess of the insulator, and comprises a holding portion (41) received in the arm portion for holding the latch in the insulator, an engaging portion (42) extending forwards from the front of the holding portion and received in the guide post for engaging with a complementary connector, a spring portion (43) extending outwards and forwards from the rear of the holding portion, and a driving portion (442) extending forwards from the spring portion to approach the engaging portion so as to drive the engaging portion by pressure. The button is mounted on the spring portion and covers the latch.

The insulative housing includes a main body, a pair of side arms respectively rearward extending from the middle of the two sides of the main body to form a receiving space between the two side arms. The forward section of said main body is a mating portion with some evenly disposed grooves. The rearward section of said main body is a connecting portion with some troughs corresponding to the grooves. Each side arm includes two pair of separated receiving slots on the tail thereof to be connected to the receiving space. Each of terminals includes a mating piece on the forward part thereof to be received in the mating portion and a connecting piece on the rearward part thereof to be received in the connecting portion. The insert includes a main body with a grid to form some passages corresponding to the troughs of the housing and two pair of fastening portions respectively extending from two sides of the main body.
