  • Publication number: 20100322782
Abstract: A device includes a resilient member having a first end for blocking an access hole and a second end for attachment to a support surface, an opening extending through the resilient member and located between the first and second ends, and a bolt connection location positioned at the second end of the resilient member. The first end of the resilient member blocks the access hole and can be deflected to provide tool access to the bolt connection location through the first opening.

  • Publication number: 20100282157
Abstract: A floatation collar for a sensor forming part of a detection array comprises two halves that when joined together act as a protective casing that secures and orients a sensor in the optimal configuration, thus forming a positioning system for said sensor. The casing provides protection, buoyancy, and trawl-resistance and comprises a shell filled with syntactic foam with voids for improved sonar reflectance. The collar top portion includes a series of projections strategically placed to protecting the sensor's transducers against mechanical damage. These are positioned in such a manner as to minimize the degree to which the sensors are occluded, and the case's collar is shaped so as to not occlude any of the downward “field of view” that is not already occluded by the air-filled pressure casing for the instrument.

  • Publication number: 20100076895
Abstract: Apparatus and methods for selecting an offer for presentation to a customer of a bank are provided. The methods may include optimizing historical customer data; selecting an offer based on the historical customer data; and, based at least in part on recent customer data, determining whether to present the offer to the customer. Optimizing the historical data may involve performing batch processing on the historical data. The recent customer data may be updated in real time. Offers may be generated and selected for presentation to the customer based on the historical data, the recent data and rules. One or more offers that are generated may be removed from consideration based on the recent customer data, which may provide real-time information about the customer and/or the customer's needs.

  • Patent number: 7630383
Abstract: Networks and methods are disclosed for synchronizing time stamps of peer devices. In one embodiment, a first communication node comprised of peer devices is connected to a second communication node. The first and second communication nodes communicate according to a protocol that requires monotonically increasing time stamps. When in operation, a peer device transmits a message to the second communication node with a time stamp. If the peer device receives an error response from the second communication node indicating that the time stamp does not comprise an increasing time stamp, then the peer device increases the time stamp. The peer device then transmits the message to the second communication node with the increased time stamp. This process continues each time the peer device receives an error response from the second communication node until the time stamp is increased sufficiently to comprise a monotonically increasing time stamp.

  • Patent number: 7573867
Abstract: A method and system for maintaining a radio link during absence of packet-based real-time media communication, such as RTP packet flow for instance. A wireless device determines that there has been an absence of packet-based real-time media flow for a threshold period of time and responsively sends a keepalive signal into the network to prevent its radio link from timing out. Further, the device may then periodically continue to send keepalive signals into the network to continue maintaining its radio link. By maintaining the radio link, the wireless device can then engage in further packet-based real-time media communication or associated packet-based signaling without the need to re-acquire a radio link.

  • Patent number: 7444139
Abstract: A method and system for reducing latency in initiation of a real-time data session between wireless communication stations. In order to initiate a session with one or more target parties, an originating station will send a voice call origination message to a network switch, providing in the origination message (i) a session-initiation feature code and (ii) a target code indicative of the one or more target parties. The switch will then detect the session-initiation feature code as an intelligent-network trigger and responsively signal to a service controller, which will in turn signal to a communication server. The communication server will then invite the originating station and each of the one or more target parties to participate in the session, setting up a conference leg with each and bridging the legs together to allow the session to proceed.

  • Publication number: 20080063407
Abstract: A digital optical network (DON) is a new approach to low-cost, more compact optical transmitter modules and optical receiver modules for deployment in optical transport networks (OTNs). One important aspect of a digital optical network is the incorporation in these modules of transmitter photonic integrated circuit (TxPIC) chips and receiver photonic integrated circuit (TxPIC) chips in lieu of discrete modulated sources and detector sources with discrete multiplexers or demultiplexers.

  • Patent number: 7277423
Abstract: A method and system for buffering media at an initiating station. In response to a user request to initiate a packet-based real-time media session, such as a “push-to-talk” session for instance, the initiating station acquires a data connection. The station then determines that it has acquired a data connection, such as by determining that it has received incoming packet-data, and responsively begins receiving and buffering media, such as voice, from a user. Once the station successfully establishes the requested media session, or a leg of the session, the station then begins transmitting the buffered media to a remote endpoint.
