  • Patent number: 8572635
Abstract: One or more message signaled interruption requests from one or more input/output (I/O) adapters are converted to I/O adapter event notifications. Each I/O adapter event notification includes the setting of one or more specific indicators in system memory and an interruption request, the first of which results in a pending I/O adapter interruption request. While a request for an I/O adapter interruption is pending, subsequent message signaled interruption requests are converted to I/O adapter event notifications, but do not result in additional requests for I/O adapter interruptions.

  • Patent number: 8570587
Abstract: According to aspects of the embodiments, there is provided methods and apparatus for sensing the movement of a moving surface by utilizing a plurality of reference patterns positioned on the surface, using the precision of the ROS Start of Scan Clock, and the uses of encoder and MOB sensors. The plurality of reference patterns are placed a known number of scanlines apart. The MOB sensor and encoder measure the distance between reference patterns. Increase accuracy is achieved by sampling the encoder signal with the ROS Master Clock and calculating a fractional encoder count at the first and last encoder counts of the measurement. The use of fractional encoder counts provides a speed measurement with greater tolerance for variations in encoder dimensions and belt thickness.

  • Patent number: 8568850
Abstract: A uniformly premixed sealant is extruded into a packaging form and allowed to pressure equilibrate prior to freezing. Upon warming the sealant begins to cure. The storage of the preformed sealant formulation under cold conditions arrests the activity of cure catalysts and accelerators mixed therethrough. The sealant is readily extruded into a preform shape containing a lightweight filler. A release film is provided to avoid contact with the sealant preformed in a shape during application to a substrate.

  • Patent number: 8572694
Abstract: An approach to handling integrated security roles is presented. An upstream application includes one or more role-mapping requirements that correspond to an upstream security role and a downstream security role. The upstream security role is expanded by adding an upstream security role identifier in a downstream application's role-mapping table or by adding upstream user-to-role mappings to a downstream application's role-mapping table. When an upstream security role is expanded, a user assigned to the upstream security role automatically has access to role-mapped downstream applications.
