Abstract: A lighting display assembly for use with a display monitor includes a light guide plate and a light source. The light guide plate is formed from a single piece of material that is transparent to visible light. The light guide plate includes a center opening extending between its front and rear surfaces and defining an inner sidewall. The light source is configured to emit visible light and is positioned facing the inner sidewall so that light emitted therefrom passes through the inner sidewall and into the light guide plate. A pattern is formed in the light guide plate and positioned to be illuminated by the visible light emitted from the light source so that the illuminated pattern is visible through the front surface of the light guide plate. The lighting display assembly is mounted behind a display monitor and is sized to extend laterally beyond an outer peripheral edge of the display monitor such that the illuminated pattern is visible from in front of the display monitor.

  • Publication number: 20200234796
Abstract: A method is presented for aligning a read with a reference substring of a genome sequence. The method includes: receiving a banded portion of a matrix from a sequence alignment algorithm; calculating a score threshold for the banded portion of the matrix, where value of the score threshold is calculated as a function of a scoring method used by the sequence alignment algorithm; identifying a high score amongst the cells in the banded portion of the matrix; and comparing the high score to the score threshold. Performing variant calling using the banded portion of the matrix when the high score is greater than to the score threshold. Computing alignment scores for a larger portion of the matrix using the sequence alignment algorithm when the high score is less than or equal to the score threshold.

  • Publication number: 20200233114
Abstract: The present disclosure is directed to numerically estimating the shear modulus of Kerogen by using a combination of mineralogy from digital image analysis and sonic log analysis, when measured data on only one elastic constant (Bulk, Young's or P-wave modulus) is available. In some instances, elastic properties predicted from the digital images are compared with sonic, shear, and density logs, to estimate the shear modulus of kerogen. As a one-to-one correspondence is not expected between the core sub-samples and the rock unit sampled by the well logs, cross-property relations can be used to identify the suitability of the effective medium models and to iteratively determine the shear modulus of kerogen.

  • Publication number: 20200232909
Abstract: A metrology system may receive a model for measuring one or more selected attributes of a target including features distributed in a selected pattern based on regression of spectroscopic scatterometry data from a scatterometry tool for a range of wavelengths. The metrology system may further generate a weighting function for the model to de-emphasize portions of the spectroscopic scatterometry data associated with wavelengths at which light captured by the scatterometry tool when measuring the target is predicted to include undesired diffraction orders. The metrology system may further direct the spectroscopic scatterometry tool to generate scatterometry data of one or more measurement targets including fabricated features distributed in the selected pattern. The metrology system may further measure the selected attributes for the one or more measurement targets based on regression of the scatterometry data of the one or more measurement targets to the model weighted by the weighting function.

  • Publication number: 20200230530
Abstract: Trichomes, lupulins and other plant parts can be efficiently separated from plant biomass by continuous filtration. In some embodiments plant biomass is collected and combined with water to form a plant biomass mixture. The plant biomass mixture is passed through a filtration device in which the plant biomass mixture is continuously flowed through a filter material. The device includes a cleaning apparatus that cleans the filter material during the process. In some embodiments greater than 90% of the plant parts are collected from the starting plant biomass. The plant parts can be subsequently processed to obtain desired compounds. For example, trichomes can be separated from other plant biomass and subsequently processed to extract one or more cannabinoids or terpenes, such as THC and/or CBD.

  • Publication number: 20200233640
Abstract: Examples of systems and methods for voice-based navigation in one or more virtual areas that define respective persistent virtual communication contexts are described. These examples enable communicants to use voice commands to, for example, search for communication opportunities in the different virtual communication contexts, enter specific ones of the virtual communication contexts, and bring other communicants into specific ones of the virtual communication contexts. In this way, these examples allow communicants to exploit the communication opportunities that are available in virtual areas, even when hands-based or visual methods of interfacing with the virtual areas are not available.

  • Publication number: 20200233971
Abstract: A breach detection engine detects and mitigates the effects of breaches across one or more data sources. An index is generated based on one or more data sources and the index is queried using keywords indicative of potential breaches. A database of potential breaches is populated based on the query of the index. The potential breach database is queried using keywords associated with a system identity (e.g., a third party). A likelihood of a candidate breach is identified based on a set of breach criteria weights. A network node associated with a candidate breach determined to be an actual breach is identified for isolation or for the performance of one or more additional security actions.
