  • Patent number: 10490059
Abstract: Methods, systems, and apparatuses are described for detecting, avoiding, and responding to wireless collisions. Wireless messages may be transmitted at various times and at various transmission power levels based on priorities of the messages, such that limited power and transmission channel resources may be devoted to higher-priority messages. Wireless gateways may manage transmission time windows for connected wireless devices, dynamically adjusting the windows based on detected wireless collisions.

  • Patent number: 10491718
Abstract: A packet received by a network device via a network. A first portion of the packet is stored in a packet memory, the first portion including at least a payload of the packet. The packet is processed based on information from a header of the packet. After the packet is processed, a second portion of the packet is stored in the packet memory, the second portion including at least a portion of the header of the packet. When the packet is to be transmitted the first portion of the packet and the second portion of the packet are retrieved from the packet memory, and the first portion and the second portion are combined to generate a transmit packet.

  • Patent number: 10489041
Abstract: A device identifies one or more user interface elements, in a user interface, associated with a fixed positioning characteristic and not positioned within another user interface element with the fixed positioning characteristic. The device repositions the one or more user interface elements in the user interface to vacate space for a new user interface element based on a size of the new user interface element and forgo repositioning one or more other user interface elements in the user interface that do not have the fixed positioning characteristic or are positioned within another user interface element with the fixed positioning characteristic. The device inserts the new user interface element into the user interface in a portion of the user interface vacated in connection with repositioning the one or more user interface elements, and provides the user interface for display based on inserting the new user interface element into the user interface.

  • Patent number: 10489600
Abstract: Many users of information handling systems use applications to create, manage, and/or save files containing information. Encryption of the files secures the data against access by unintended recipients. Information handling systems may be designed to perform encryption in the background with minimal user input. For example, applications, application plug-ins, or operating system (OS) level system services may facilitate encryption and decryption of application files with minimal user input. Such applications, plugins, and services may allow applications to interact with encryption systems, such as virtual file systems, and may direct file save and access operations through the encryption systems, automatically encrypting and decrypting files selected by the user without exposing the user to cumbersome or confusing encryption options.

  • Patent number: 10489238
Abstract: A client management server manages client devices deployed throughout an enterprise facility that may be used for various applications such as wayfinders and internal and external meeting room computers. The client management receives screenshots from the client devices and applies a classifier to classify an operating state of each device as corresponding to a normal operating state or an error state. If the operating state is classified as corresponding to the error state, a remedial action is triggered. The classifier may be a machine trained model that is trained using supervised or unsupervised learning, including by simulating errors on the clients.

  • Patent number: 10492289
Abstract: A component having a coating comprising a material in a first phase (e.g., solid and/or liquid phase) with a transition temperature. The component is mechanically and/or electrically attached to a substrate. Exposure of the coating to a temperature that meets or exceeds the transition temperature causes the material to undergo a phase change. The phase change of the material alters the position of the component, including separation of the component from the substrate. The separation disrupts the attachment, thereby mitigating damage to the substrate and/or component.

  • Patent number: 10491005
Abstract: The invention is a method for intelligent current limiting enabling chaining of electrical appliances. Different embodiments apply to alternating current (AC) appliances, direct current (DC) appliances, and a combination of each. In each embodiment, current limits control the number of appliances that can be connected in the chain. If current limits are exceeded, current-limiting devices cut power to one or more of the appliances. Each appliance in the system has conductors with the capacity to carry a current load at least as large as the overall current limit. Preferably, the appliances in the system are garage appliances that are mounted to an overhead track system in a garage, where electrical outlets are scarce.
