  • Patent number: 7536606
Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for automatically generating an accurate model of communications processes between disparate computing systems that may be analyzed in an efficient manner for error detection in web services systems. Business Process Execution Language for Web Services (BPEL) descriptions are automatically generated for the BPEL-based executable processes utilized by each communicating computing system in a given web services system. The BPEL abstract process descriptions for each communicating computing system are translated into a combined process model according to a suitable modeling language. The process model is tested by a model checking software application. Communications errors between the disparate computing systems are detected by automatically testing the combined process model according to a variety of potential communications scenarios.

  • Publication number: 20090112870
Abstract: Systems and methods of distributed storage are disclosed herein. A request to store data in a client computer is received. A request is sent from the client computer to a storage service to create a core object such that the core object can be created with a member entry to a member feed in the core object. The member feed can be indicative of one or more entities that are permitted to access to the core object. A message is received at the client computer with the core object. A replica of the core object on the client computer is created. The client computer can add the data as a data entry to a data feed in the core object. An updating message is sent to the storage service. The message can include a copy of the replica of the core object including the data entry.

  • Publication number: 20070084182
Abstract: An antimicrobial, cut-resistant composite yarn has a core including at least one cut-resistant strand, and a cover including at least one strand wrapped around and enclosing the core. At least one strand in either the core or the cover is treated with and incorporates an antimicrobial compound. In addition, the yarn can include one or more channel fibers to facilitate movement of moisture within the composite yarn so that the moisture contacts the antimicrobial compound, thereby enhancing the efficacy of the antimicrobial compound. The yarn can be used to fabricate cut-resistant garments, such as gloves, worn by meat cutters and others who work with knives, saws and other sharp implements. The antimicrobial effect reduces bacteria, mold and fungi growth on the garments between washings.

  • Patent number: 6752082
Abstract: Systems and methods for selecting a media and a page size. A combination is provided for each media/page size pair in a printing system. A user can select a combination from a list of combinations and the media and page size that correspond to the selected combination are identified and used for a print job of the user. A color profile is selected automatically. The selected media is loaded in an appropriate printer and printed. The combination is an encrypted value that includes a media and a page size. The combination optionally includes an entity identifier. The combinations or identifiers are usually specific to a particular entity and cannot be used by other competing entities.

  • Publication number: 20030217094
Abstract: A system and method facilitating business process(es) employing a correlation set is provided. The invention includes a system for sending message(s) having a data retrieval component and a service component. The data retrieval provides an output to the service component based on a schema and a business process type. The service component generates a message having a correlation set based on the output of the data retrieval component. To initiate a business process, the service component generates an activation message and the correlation set, the correlation set uniquely identifying the business process.

  • Patent number: 6404776
Abstract: A multimedia communication arrangement processes and multiplexes different types of data, including data from an adaptive data rate data source and a nonadaptive data rate data source, to substantially increase data throughput over a communication channel. The rate at which data is collected from the adaptive data rate data source varies based on the available channel bandwidth of the modem. The transmission rate is optionally adjusted in response to a detected error rate. Furthermore, the amount of filtering performed by a video camera on an image before the image is encoded by a codec can be adjusted. In addition, a data recovery terminal optionally selectively adjusts intervals at which received audio data is sampled to potentially reduce latency periods.

  • Patent number: 6026097
Abstract: A multimedia communication system processes and multiplexes different types of data, including data from an adaptive data rate data source and a nonadaptive data rate data source, to substantially increase data throughput over a communication channel. The system includes: a first data source, responsive to a control signal, including a video image processor constructed to capture images and to present the images as a first type of data at a rate determined as a function of the control signal; at least one additional data source generating at least one additional data signal; a data signal processor that determines an available bandwidth factor for the communication channel, generates the control signal in response to this factor, collects the first type of data at a rate that varies in response to the available channel bandwidth of the modem, and collects the at least one additional type of data at at least one established rate.

  • Patent number: 5843271
Abstract: An assembly is provided for butt fusing lengths of plastic pipe in axial relationship. The assembly includes a cart having a chassis and wheels, the chassis having a longitudinal axis defined by the direction of movement of the cart in a straight line. A butt fusion machine having a frame, a first clamp and a second clamp thereon, is removably positioned on the cart. Each clamp is adapted to releasably secure the end portion of a length of thermoplastic pipe so that thereby the frame has a plane of orientation along which lengths of pipe extend when secured by the clamps.

  • Patent number: 5770006
Abstract: A machine for use in butt fusing in axial alignment plastic pipe having a selected maximum diameter is adaptable by the use of specially designed inserts secured in the lower portions of fixed and moveable clamps, the inserts serving to elevationally raise segments of pipes to be joined when the machine is used to manufacture a segmented pipe turn. In addition to the employment of inserts providing increased height of support for pipe segments, the pivotal upper portions for the fixed and moveable clamps are replaced by specially designed upper clamp portions that have contacting surfaces configured to accept inclined and elevationally upwardly supported pipe segments. By the use of such specially designed inserts and replacement upper clamp portions a butt fusion machine can be employed to manufacture segmented pipe turns of the maximum pipe diameter for which the machine is designed.
