Abstract: A magnetic stripe card includes a magnetic stripe, a plurality of magnetic write heads, and data circuitry. The magnetic stripe stores magnetic fields indicative of a dynamic number. The plurality of magnetic write heads located under the magnetic stripe generates the magnetic fields to write bits of the dynamic number onto the magnetic stripe. The data circuitry generates the dynamic number and sequentially provides the bits of the dynamic number to the plurality of the magnetic write heads.

Abstract: A hydration system is described, including a pouch for storing fluid, a flexible conduit connected to the pouch for delivering fluid to the user, and a jointed mouthpiece connected to the tube, the mouthpiece including at least two components connected in a moveable joint structure, one of the components being a fluid discharge element for releasing fluid from the tube. The joint structure enables the user to change the orientation of the fluid discharge element relative to the tube.

Abstract: A hydration system is described, including a pouch for storing fluid, a flexible conduit connected to the pouch for delivering fluid to the user, and a rotatable port structure connected to both the conduit and the pouch, the port structure having at least two components connected in a moveable joint structure about a first axis of rotation—a surface mount receiver mounted to the surface of the pouch and an outlet connector that is rotatably connected to the surface mount receiver in a watertight arrangement. A quick connect apparatus may also be attached to the outlet connector for quickly connecting and disconnecting the conduit from the port structure and providing a second axis of rotation.

Abstract: A system for hydration has a back pack that holds a bladder with liquids for consumption by the user. The bladder has an intake port for filling and a discharge port connected to a discharge tube to transmit the fluid to a bite valve. A magnet is attached to the bite valve; and a magnet is attached to a buckle on the straps supporting the back pack. The bite valve has a free position remote from the buckle and a stored position in which the magnet on the bite valve is magnetically attached to a magnet on the buckle. The magnet has sufficient force to draw the bite valve to the buckle when the bite valve is proximate the buckle so that a user need not use a hand to unite the bite valve with the buckle.

Abstract: The present invention is directed to compositions and methods for the treatment of patients with cephalotaxines, for example, homoharringtonine. The invention is also directed to improvements in the purity, manufacturing process, formulation and administration of homoharringtonine for the treatment of cancer and other aberrant cellular diseases. The invention also provides methods and compositions for antiparasitic, antifungal, antiviral and antibacterial treatments.

Abstract: A method of treatment of a host with a cellular proliferative disease, comprising contacting the host with a naphthalimide and an antiproliferative agent, each in an amount sufficient to modulate said cellular proliferative disease, is described. In some embodiments, the naphthalimide comprises amonafide (5-amino-2-[2-(dimethylamine)ethyl]-1H-benz[de-]isoquinoline-1,3-(2H)-dione). Antiproliferative agents of the invention comprise alkylating agents, intercalating agents, metal coordination complexes, pyrimidine nucleosides, purine nucleosides, inhibitors of nucleic acid associated enzymes and proteins, and agents affecting structural proteins and cytoplasmic enzymes. The invention comprises the described methods as well as compositions and kits comprising a naphthalimide and an antiproliferative agent.

The cephalotaxines are useful in treating or preventing an angiogenic condition or disease. The invention provides for medical devices including coatings containing a matrix and a cephtalotaxine to treat an angiogenic condition or disease. The invention provides for methods and compositions, including cephalotaxine alkaloids as antiangiogenic agents, for treatment of a host with an angiogenic condition or disease or for prophylactic treatment of a host to inhibit the onset or progression of an angiogenic condition or disease. The invention also provides for medical devices useful for delivering or administrating a cephalotaxine in vivo.

A battery tester is coupled to the replacement storage battery. A replacement storage battery identifier is entered into the battery tester that identifies the replacement storage battery. The battery tester performs a battery test on the replacement storage battery. A replacement battery test code is generated using the battery test and the replacement storage battery identifier. The replacement battery test code is communicated to a centralized database. The replacement battery test code is associated with a battery test code related to the previously purchased storage battery in the centralized database.

Abstract: A control device processes or agricultural sprayer. A slip member biased by a retaining member and springs to an initial neutral position produces a signal by a sensor upon initiation or cessation of angular forces from rotation of a machine driven shaft. The signal is caused by movement of the slip member from friction produced by an impeller situated within the grease filled slip member. The impeller is coupled directly or indirectly to the machine driven shaft and rotates upon rotation of the shaft. Upon initiation of angular forces on the impeller, the signal produced may cause a valve on an agricultural sprayer to open and initiate spraying therefrom. Upon cessation of angular forces on the impeller, the valve may be closed to turn off the spraying.

Abstract: A process for providing a methyl group on an alpha-carbon adjacent to a hydrogenated electron withdrawing group includes: providing a molecule containing the alpha-carbon and an electron withdrawing group; reacting the molecule in a presence of an acid catalyst with dimethyl ether to substitute the methyl group on the alpha-carbon; and hydrogenating the electron withdrawing group to provide the hydrogenated electron withdrawing group adjacent to the alpha-carbon substituted with the methyl group. The process can be conducted in the vapor, liquid or slurry phase.

Abstract: A payment card comprises a plastic card with a magnetic stripe for user account data. Internal to the plastic card, and behind the magnetic stripe, a number of fixed-position magnetic write heads allow the user account data to be automatically modified. For example, a data field that counts the number of times the card has been scanned is incremented. A payment processing center keeps track of this usage-counter data field, and will not authorize transaction requests that come out of sequence. For example, as can occur from a magnetic clone of a card that has been skimmed and tried later. A card-swipe detector embedded in the plastic card detects each use in a scanner, and it signals an internal microcomputer which changes data bits sent to the write heads. Once scanned, the payment card can also disable any reading of the user account data for a short fixed period of time.

Abstract: A method of treating a cellular proliferative in a patient through the use of a naphthalimide and a PARP-1 inhibitor is disclosed. In a one embodiment, the naphthalimide is amonafide or an analog thereof.

Abstract: The present invention provides methods for dosing patients with naphthalimides, including amonafide, amonafide salts, and analogs thereof based on N-acetyl transferase genotyping. The invention also provides methods for dosing the amount of granulocyte colony stimulating factor (GCSF) used in combination with naphthalimide to prevent or modulate leukocytopenia.

Abstract: A method of treatment of a host with a cellular proliferative disease, including contacting the host with a colchicine family member such as thiocolchicine and an antiproliferative agent, each in an amount sufficient to modulate said cellular proliferative disease. Antiproliferative agents of the invention include agents that interact with nucleic acids, for example, etoposide, camptothecin, and cisplatin. Antiproliferative agents of the invention also include agents that interact with tubulin targets, for example, paclitaxel and vinblastine. The invention also includes compositions containing a colchicine family member such as thiocochicine and an antiproliferative agent.

Abstract: A fuel cell stack antifreeze system that purges a plurality of fuel cell stacks connected in parallel includes a compressor that supplies pressurized cathode gas to each of the plurality of fuel cell stacks. A controller deactivates a first group of one or more of the plurality of fuel cell stacks and maintains operation of a second group of one or more of the plurality of fuel cell stacks. The second group powers the compressor and the compressor purges excess fluid from the first group using the pressurized cathode gas.

Abstract: A container system has a container defining a volume. Inlet structure includes a cap that threads onto a spout. A tether has a first end formed integral with the base or neck of the spout. A second end of the tether is attached to a mount in the cap extending downward so that when installed and in the closed position, the second end of the tether attached to the mount is substantially in the same plane as the first end and the spiral stretch of the tether in between. When the tether moves from the stored position and the deployed position, it urges itself back toward the closed position. The tether has a length for positioning the cap of the inlet structure away from the inlet. A discharge port is connected to a discharge tube and a bite valve.

Abstract: A flask is formed of two panels heat sealed together along with a base or bottom insert. Two spouts are provided proximate the top one of which is for the extraction of fluids and the other of which is for the introduction of fluids. The flask may have a bite valve or a fluid conduit attached to one spout cap. Both spouts may be sealed into and along the edge of the flask. Alternately, one spout may be formed into a panel and the other into and along the edge of the flask. Alternately a pump may be provided to pump air into the flask to pressurize the fluid so that it will be urged out of the flask and through the bite valve when it is open.
