  • Patent number: 6065594
Abstract: A storage container for an item of recorded media includes a centrally disposed hub surrounded by and spaced from an outer wall. The hub includes a pair of resilient arms that cooperate to loosely but securely retain an item of recorded media having a centrally disposed inner hole. The hub includes a first support platform that includes a plurality of raised bumps that essentially frictionlessly support the item of recorded media from below. The outer wall includes a second support platform that also includes a plurality of bumps that supports the item of recorded media from below about its outer periphery. The outer wall also includes a blocking wall that extends above the outer edge to prevent the user from grasping the outer edge of the item of recorded media. The outer wall further contains a finger access hole that extends through the blocking wall that allows the user to grab the edge of the item of recorded media in a selected position that is aligned with the arms of the hub.

  • Patent number: 5996788
Abstract: A storage container for an item of recorded media includes a centrally disposed hub surrounded by and spaced from an outer wall. The hub includes a pair of cantilevered resilient arms that cooperate to loosely but securely retain an item of recorded media. The top of the hub is disposed at a height higher than the tops of the arms such that force on the hub will fail to move the resilient arms. The hub also includes a first support platform that includes a plurality of raised bumps that essentially frictionlessly support the item of recorded media from below. The outer wall includes a second support platform that also includes a plurality of bumps that supports the item of recorded media from below about its outer periphery. The outer wall also includes a blocking wall that extends above the outer edge to prevent the user from grasping the outer edge of the item of recorded media.

  • Patent number: 5944185
Abstract: A lockable media storage box and lock and key combination includes a box having a base and a lid hingedly connected to the base and movable between opened and closed positions. A locking tab extends from the lid. The locking tab has a first hole therein. The base has a second hole therein. The first and second holes are aligned when the lid is in the closed position. A lock having at least one locking finger and at least one locking pin is attachable to the box by the locking finger. When the lock is attached to the box, the locking pin is disposed in the first and second holes to the prevent lid from being opened. Lock carries an EAS tag in a manner such that it cannot be easily removed.

  • Patent number: 5934114
Abstract: A reusable plastic package for securely holding and displaying a rectangular article such as a compact disc. This reusable plastic package includes a housing having a rectangular-shaped storage compartment for selectively storing an article in the compartment. The storage compartment has an access opening for inserting and removing the article into and out of the compartment. An adjacent smaller compartment functions as a lock compartment whereby a slide plate is slidably mounted thereon and selectively movable across a portion of the access opening of the storage compartment for releasably securing the article in the storage compartment. Deflectable locking levers are formed within the lock compartment and engage with mating projections formed on the slide plate when the slide plate is in the locked position for securing the article within the package due to a portion of the slide plate blocking the access opening.

  • Patent number: 5904246
Abstract: A reusable plastic package for securely holding and displaying a rectangular article such as a compact disc includes a housing having large and small compartments formed on opposite ends for selectively storing an article in the larger of the compartments. The large compartment has an access opening for inserting and removing the article into and out of the compartment. The small compartment functions as a lock compartment whereby a lock plate is slidably mounted thereon and selectively movable across a portion of the access opening of the larger storage compartment for releasably securing the article in the larger storage compartment. Magnetically releasable locking levers are formed within the lock compartment and interengage with mating projections formed on the lock plate when the lock plate is in a selected locked position for securing the article within the package due to a portion of the lock plate blocking the access opening.

  • Patent number: 5762187
Abstract: A security container for storing various articles such as recorded media, includes a parallelipipedic frame with an internal storage chamber and an access opening communicating therewith. A slide plate is slidably mounted on one end of the frame and is movable linearly toward and away from the access opening. A separate tab is slidably mounted on the frame adjacent the access opening and is automatically moved linearly in a direction perpendicularly to the linear movement of the slide plate between a blocking position across the access opening and an unblocking position by a camming engagement with the slide plate. A lock mechanism releasably locks the slide plate in a fixed position to retain the tab in the blocking position until released by a key device.

  • Patent number: 5588539
Abstract: A dish draining rack (10) is disclosed comprising a central upwardly opening chamber (12) defined by longitudinal side panels (18,20) and end panels (26,28). The side panels ( 18, 20) are formed to include a series of convoluted concave depressions (30) defined by concave depress(on side walls (32). Edge portions (40) ofthe floor surface (16) cant downward from the center to the side panels (18,20), and a passageway (34) is positioned below each depression (30) and extends through the floor surface (16). An inverted glass positioned upon the edge surface portion (40) tilts into one of the depressions (30) where it is supporied by the depression concave side walls (32). So positioned, water in the glass collects and travels along an outward surface of the glass to the floor surface (16) and thence through the passageways (34) through the floor edge portions (40) to a mat below the rack.

  • Patent number: 5462115
Abstract: A swab is movably mounted within a well casing and automatically removes fluid from the well upon accumulated pressure at the bottom of the casing reaching a predetermined amount to raise the swab within the casing. The swab has a hollow body with an inner cylindrical bore. A control rod is slidably mounted within the bore and has a cross-sectional configuration whereby only a plurality of sliding contact lines occur between the rod and bore wall to reduce rod hangup and provide increased flow area between the rod and bore wall. A fluid inlet port is formed by an open bottom end of the swab body and is open and closed by a valve member located external of the swab body. The valve member has a generally pointed nose to reduce drag when the swab is descending into the casing, and upon contact of the nose with a stop at the bottom of the well casing, will automatically move to a closed position with the fluid inlet port.
