  • Publication number: 20240008080
Abstract: Channel access coordination for TXOP sharing An access point of a wireless communication system operates on a primary bandwidth part 5 (Ch2, Ch3) of a medium. This operation on the primary bandwidth part (Ch2, Ch3) is based on carrier sensing to gain access to the primary bandwidth part of the medium. Further, the access point scans a secondary bandwidth part (Ch1, Ch2) of the medium to detect control messages transmitted on the secondary bandwidth part (Ch1, Ch2), without performing carrier sensing to gain access to the secondary bandwidth part (Ch1, Ch2) of the medium. Further, the AP 10 detects a control message indicating that another AP reserved a transmission opportunity, TXOP, on the secondary bandwidth part (Ch1, Ch2) of the medium. In response to the control message, the AP cooperates with the other AP by sharing the TXOP for performing one or more transmissions of data.

  • Patent number: 11838889
Abstract: Methods for facilitating positioning determination in a Wi-Fi communication network are disclosed. An example method comprises sending, to a responding communication node, a request to start a position-related determination procedure and information of a first plurality of frequency bands over which the initiating communication node is able to communicate. The method further comprises receiving, from the responding communication node, second information related to a second number of frequency bands over which the responding communication node is able to communicate, and triggering start of the position-related determination procedure based on the received second information so that the position-related determination procedure is performed over at least one of a third number of frequency bands that occurs in both the first plurality of frequency bands and the second number of frequency bands.

  • Patent number: 11838866
Abstract: Embodiments include methods for a wireless communication device comprising a main receiver and a wake-up receiver (WUR) having a channel selective filter. Such methods include determining a correlation metric for the WUR, based on the following: a signal received via the WUR using the channel selective filter configured according to a first one of a plurality of available bandwidths, and a reference signal that is representative of a wake-up signal (WUS) transmitted by an access point node. Such methods include detecting a WUS included in the received signal based on the correlation metric in relation to a first threshold, and in response to detecting the WUS, selecting a second one of the available bandwidths for the channel selective filter, based on the correlation metric in relation to a second threshold. Other embodiments include complementary methods for an access point node, as well as apparatus configured to perform such methods.

  • Publication number: 20230292363
Abstract: An access point of a wireless communication system configures a carrier for communication with one or more wireless devices associated with the access point. Further, the access point contends at least with one or more other access points for access to the carrier. Further, the access point cooperates with the one or more further access points by sharing a transmission opportunity, TXOP. The TXOP is reserved on the carrier by one of the access points, in response to this access point gaining access to the carrier. Before transmitting data in the shared TXOP, the access point performs a Ready-to-Send/Clear-to-Send, RTS/CTS, procedure. Further, the access point coordinates the RTS/CTS procedure with an RTS/CTS procedure respectively performed by each of the one or more other access points sharing the TXOP.

  • Patent number: 11700534
Abstract: A wireless communications system and a method for frequency multiplexing a first (LAA) OFDMA transmission and a second (Wi-Fi) OFDMA transmission on a shared radio channel spanning at least partly a common bandwidth. The system determines an unallocated frequency band available beside a first frequency band intended for a first transmission and sends a sharing request comprising information about the unallocated band. The system decides to use the unallocated band in a second frequency band in the shared channel. The system sends a legacy preamble and a first part of a Wi-Fi preamble spanning the shared channel. The first transmission is sent in the first band such that an end time point of the first part of the Wi-Fi preamble coincides with a start time point of the first transmission. Further, the system sends a second part of the Wi-Fi preamble and the second transmission in the second band.

  • Publication number: 20230198658
Abstract: A method is disclosed for a wireless transmitter device configured for orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) transmission to a wireless receiver device using one or more allocated resource unit (RU), wherein each RU is associated with a constituent encoding padding parameter. The method comprises determining an overall encoding padding parameter, and generating—based on the determined overall encoding padding parameter—a physical layer data packet for transmission to the wireless receiver device in the allocated RU(s). When exactly one RU is allocated for transmission to the wireless receiver device, the overall encoding padding parameter is determined as the constituent encoding padding parameter of the allocated RU. When more than one RU:s are allocated for transmission to the wireless receiver device, the overall encoding padding parameter is determined as a sum of the constituent encoding padding parameters of the allocated RU:s.

  • Publication number: 20230171806
Abstract: An access point of a wireless communication system configures a carrier for communication with one or more wireless devices associated with the access point. Based on a backoff counter maintained by the access point, the access point contends for access to the carrier to transmit data. In response to another access point winning contention for access to the carrier, the access point cooperates at least with the access point winning the contention by sharing a transmission opportunity reserved on the carriers by the access point winning the contention and transmitting at least a part of the data in the shared transmission opportunity. During the shared transmission opportunity the access point pauses the backoff counter.

  • Publication number: 20230132900
Abstract: A wireless transmitter (10, 11) transmits user data using Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing modulation on a shared wireless medium having a bandwidth organized in multiple resource units. Based on a mapping of the user data to the resource units, the wireless transmitter (10, 11) modulates a symbol of the user data onto a first set of subcarriers of a first resource unit of the resource units and redundantly modulates the symbol onto a second set of subcarriers of a second resource unit of the resource units. The mapping of the user data to the resource units is based on possible puncturing patterns applied to the resource units.

  • Publication number: 20230087687
Abstract: A wireless device (11) configures a carrier for communication with a serving access point (10). The wireless device (11) maintains a virtual carrier sense timer. The virtual carrier sense timer indicates that the carrier is to be regarded as occupied as long as the virtual carrier sense timer is not expired. The wireless device (11) receives one or more wireless transmissions on the carrier. The one or more wireless transmissions each include: an identifier commonly assigned to multiple access points which cooperate by sharing a transmission opportunity, and a duration field for indicating a duration for which the carrier is expected to be occupied. In response to the identifier matching an identifier of the serving access point (11), the wireless device (11) updates the virtual carrier sense timer according to the indicated duration. Based on the virtual carrier sense timer, the wireless device (11) controls one or more UL wireless transmissions from the wireless device (11).
