  • Patent number: 8299872
Abstract: An ultra wideband dual-frequency combiner includes a combination port (Port 1), a first port (Port 2), a second port (Port 3), two coaxial resonator band pass filters and two direct current channels. The first direct current channel is connected between the first port (Port 2) and the combination port (Port 1). The second direct current channel is connected between the second port (Port 3) and the combination port (Port 1). One end of the first coaxial resonator hand pass filters (610, 611) is electrically connected with the first port (Port 2) via a first blocking capacitor. One end of the second coaxial resonator hand pass filter (620, 621) is electrically connected with the second port (Port 3) via a second blocking capacitor. The other ends of the first coaxial resonator band pass filter and the second coaxial resonator band pass filter are connected with the combination port (Port 1) via a third blocking capacitor. The blocking capacitors are parameter distributed capacitors.

  • Patent number: 8301779
Abstract: Providing access to a shared resource in a computing environment involves maintaining a timestamp for each shared resource, the timestamp representing the time the resource was last accessed. Then, detecting if the resource is reserved before obtaining access to the resource, by reading the resource timestamp, and if the timestamp represents a future time relative to the current time, indicating that the resource is reserved and delaying access to the resource. If the resource is unreserved, then accessing the resource by reading the resource timestamp to detect any changes in the timestamp since the last reading; if unchanged, then accessing the resource. If the resource is unreserved, then obtaining exclusive access to the resource by reserving the resource by incrementing its timestamp by a reservation period; accessing the resource; and resetting the resource timestamp to the current time.

  • Patent number: 8296876
Abstract: A sink organizer includes a section defining a compartment having an extendable, collapsible and/or expandable base that provides a deeper holding section with an extended base to support a long slender shaped item, such as a long-handle brush. The expandable base has a telescopic structure, which may be in the form of an accordion-like structure having annular folding sections or other form of axially collapsible or telescopic structure (e.g., a concentric coupling of a series of nested and axially interlocking cylindrical collars of gradually reducing dimensions). Suction cups provide mounting of the sink organizer onto a sink wall. A bracket is attached to the side of the sink organizer where the suction cup mounting is also provided. The bracket has a handle, which is configured to rest against the top edge of the sink, thus providing additional support for stabilizing the sink organizer after it is attached to the sink wall by the suction cups.

  • Patent number: 8301940
Abstract: A method, system, and product for monitoring the availability of a data processing system are proposed. The system runs a management application involving the periodic transmission of blocks of data from multiple local computers to a central computer. Whenever a block of data must be transmitted by a generic local computer, an expected transmission delay of a next block of data (with respect to the current one) is estimated and attached to the block of data. The central computer receiving the updated block of data can calculate an expected receiving time of the next block of data accordingly. If the next block of data is not received in due time, the central computer determines a failure of the local computer. The central computer also scans a subset of ports of the local computer, to ascertain whether the problem is due to a temporary unavailability of the application.

  • Patent number: 8298359
Abstract: A method for manufacturing a recycled prepreg material in strip form, is composed of fiber sections embedded in a resin matrix. A charge of flat scraps from a prepreg starting material is supplied, recording the overall area of the scraps. Then the scraps are fragmented by cutting so as to obtain cut fragments of predetermined size. A strip of backing material and a strip of protective material are supplied. The cut fragments are then distributed in a random manner on the strip of backing material, the feeding speed of the strip of backing material being adjusted depending on the recorded area of the input scraps, so that the cut fragments form a substantially homogeneous layer. The strip of protective material is then arranged over the cut fragments distributed on the strip of backing material, and the whole assembly is then compacted so as to form a strip of recycled prepreg material.

  • Patent number: 8296415
Abstract: A solution is proposed for implementing a self-adapting reconciliation process. Multiple user accounts are defined on different endpoints for accessing protected resources thereof; a server centralizes the definition of the user accounts on a single point of control which is then synchronized with user account definitions on the endpoints. A dynamic reconciliator, interposed between the server and the endpoints, receives any request from the server for a reconciliation process to be completed in a predefined time-frame. The reconciliator collects the required information from the endpoints and determines an optimal time pattern for the processing of the information by the server over the time-frame according to an estimated amount of information expected to be received and an estimated workload distribution of the server in the time-frame. The reconciliator transmits the information to the server according to this time pattern.

  • Publication number: 20120264594
Abstract: The invention describes the preparation of electrocatalysts, both anodic (aimed at the oxidation of the fuel) and cathodic (aimed at the reduction of the oxygen), based on mono- and plurimetallic carbon nitrides to be used in PEFC (Polymer electrolyte membrane fuel cells), DMFC (Direct methanol fuel cells) and H2 electrogenerators. The target of the invention is to obtain materials featuring a controlled metal composition based on carbon nitride clusters or on carbon nitride clusters supported on oxide-based ceramic materials. The preparation protocol consists of three steps. In the first the precursor is obtained through reactions of the type: a) sol-gel; b) gel-plastic; c) coagulation-flocculation-precipitation.

  • Publication number: 20120265285
Abstract: The present disclosure concerns a delivery system for delivering a medically useful payload through the vasculature to a site of interest in the patient's body. The medically useful payload may be a therapeutic device, such as a stent, and it may be a diagnostic tool, such as an imaging device. Owing to its structural attributes, the presently-inventive delivery system is well suited for carrying medical payload to and through vessel curvature and to branched regions (i.e., bifurcations) in same. Also, the device is well-suited to traveling through a vessel over a guiding element, such as a guidewire, which itself exhibits curvature.

  • Patent number: 8288368
Abstract: (R)-2-Arylpropionamide compounds of formula (I) are described. The process for their preparation and pharmaceutical preparations thereof are also described. The 2-Arylpropionamides of the invention are useful in the prevention and treatment of tissue damage due to the exacerbate recruitment of polymorphonuclear leukocytes (leukocytes PMN) and of monocytes at the inflammatory sites. In particular, the invention relates to the R enantiomers of omega-aminoalkylamides of 2-aryl propionic acids, of formula (I), for use in the inhibition of the chemotaxis of neutrophils and monocytes induced by the C5a fraction of the complement and by other chemotactic proteins whose biological activity is associated with activation of a 7-TD receptor. Selected compounds of formula (I) are dual inhibitors of both the C5a-induced chemotaxis of neutrophils and monocytes and the IL-8-induced chemotaxis of PMN leukocytes.
