  • Patent number: 9341844
Abstract: A method for validating a control operation to be performed by a target device through a virtual control interface. The virtual control interface is displayed by a head mounted device. A selection instruction of a first area is detected, delivering a first area. A position of gaze is detected, delivering a second area within the virtual control interface. It is detected if the first area and the second area are at least partially overlapping a same dedicated area associated to a control operation to be performed by the target device. In case of detection of an occurrence of the first area and the second area at least partially overlapping, the control operation is validated.

  • Patent number: 9313475
Abstract: Various implementations provide techniques to prevent excessive parallax, depth, or disparity from being passed through to a viewer. In one particular implementation, it is determined that a depth indicator for an object in a stereoscopic image pair of a video sequence is outside of a target range. One or more images of the stereoscopic image pair is modified so that the depth indicator for the object is within the target range. In other implementations, a depth transition between the object and another portion of the video sequence is smoothed. In further implementations, the stereoscopic image pair is replaced with a 2D image pair that includes the object. In yet further implementations, a resulting video sequence includes (i) one or more stereoscopic image pairs having non-zero disparity and for which the depth indicator is within the target range for the entire image pair, and (ii) one or more 2D image pairs.

  • Patent number: 9253458
Abstract: The invention relates to a display device using the DLP (Digital Light Processing) technology. This invention is in the field of digital cinema and content protection, where camcorder acquisition followed by immediate illegal distribution creates important revenue losses for content owners. According to the invention, the addressing of the display device is modified in order to introduce an anti-copy processing. The display device comprises modulation means for modulating the color or brightness of video data of video pictures received at a first rate and for outputting at a second rate modulated video data, said second rate being a multiple of the first rate, subfield coding means for coding said modulated video data into subfield data, said subfield data being delivered at the second rate, and addressing means for addressing the array with said subfield data at a third rate. Advantageously, the third rate is not a multiple of the first rate.

  • Patent number: 9237276
Abstract: To capture an image, the image sensing period of this image is subdivided into a plurality of successive illumination periods, and the value which is assigned to each pixel to capture the image is the sum of the integrals of intensity of illumination of this pixel over each of said successive illumination periods. According to the invention, this sum is weighted by an apodization function in order to emulate a mechanical shutter. Temporal aliasing issues and temporal ringing artifacts of digital imaging are prevented or at least limited.

  • Patent number: 9172849
Abstract: A method for image processing of digital image pixels. Pixels are preferably filtered spatially and dithered, and the value for at least one color component is bit reduced. The space freed by the bit reduction is used to allocate a look-up table selection bit that indicates which look-up table (LUT), from a plurality of small LUTs partitioned from a bigger LUT, should be used for the color transform. The transformed pixels are then selected according to the used LUT, format converted and output. The invention, which also covers an apparatus and a pre-processing module, enables an apparatus with a LUT to be used both as a single full-rate LUT apparatus and as a lower-rate n smaller LUT apparatus.
