  • Publication number: 20030096097
Abstract: The invention concerns the manufacture of an antibiotic coating of elements with interconnecting microcavities, elements thus coated as well as their use. In a preferred embodiment, a homogenous solution of a gentamicin derivative in a solvent is introduced into the microcavities of non-metallic elements with interconnecting microcavities through dipping, spraying and dripping, and following evaporation or vaporization of the solvent, a layer of the gentamicin derivative is formed on the surface of the microcavities.

  • Publication number: 20020198056
Abstract: In a torque transmission system, plural engagement pieces elastically deformable are formed integrally with an outer peripheral portion of a circular portion of a center hub to be engaged with an inner periphery portion of a pulley. A bridge portion of the center hub is disposed to be broken when a torque large than a predetermined torque is applied there to. Since the engagement protrusion pieces are engaged with a part of the pulley, it can prevent the center hub from being removed and falling when the bridge portion of the center hub is broken.

  • Publication number: 20020150549
Abstract: The present invention relates to an antibiotic(s)-polymer combination, which under physiological conditions guarantees the continuous release of antibiotics over a period of several days and can be used in human and veterinary medicine. The invented antibiotic(s)-polymer combination is whereinin a homogeneous polymer mixture, consisting of one or more hydrophobic polymers from the groups of poly(methacrylic acid esters), the poly(acrylic acid esters) and the poly(methacrylic acid ester-co-acrylic acid esters) and one or more hydrophilic polymers from the group of polyethers, one or more slightly water-soluble antibiotics from the groups of aminoglycoside antibiotics, the lincosamide antibiotics, the tetracycline antibiotics and quinolone antibiotics, possibly an easily water-soluble antibiotic from the groups of aminoglycoside antibiotics, the lincosamide antibiotics and the tetracycline antibiotics, and possibly one or more organic adjuvants are suspended, and that this suspension forms a composite.

  • Patent number: 5184641
Abstract: The invention relates to a flow regulator for gaseous or liquid media, comprising a housing (1), a regulating unit (1) which changes its free flow area, depending on the flow pressure of the medium, and further comprising a distributor unit (3) behind the regulating means (2) in the direction of flow. To provide a flow regulator which is still relatively simple in construction yet enables more constant volume limitation to be maintained and is less sensitive to manufacturing tolerances of the individual components, the invention proposes that a disc (4) containing at least one hole (5) be provided between the regulating unit (2) and the distributor unit (3) and be movable to a limited extent in an axial direction at least in the region of the hole.

  • Patent number: 4928327
Abstract: A device for the reduction of water use in a WC water tank comprises a closing element which opens and closes an outlet opening of the tank and is formed as a buoyant member. The device ensures a various rationing of water discharged from the tank by a ring-shaped suppressing element provided on the closing element which hangs on a chain connected to an operating knob. The suppressing element exerts on the closing element a force which is greater than the force required to maintain the closing element buoyant.

  • Patent number: 4471825
Abstract: A tread structure for pneumatic tires, especially for motor vehicles, having two circumferential ribs which include essentially rectangular blocks; these blocks are arranged sequentially one after the other in the circumferential direction of the tire, and are separated from each other by S-shaped fine slits. Several circumferential main grooves extend in a zig-zag manner in such a way as to form angles of 90.degree.. Respective separating grooves separate the tread from the sidewalls of the tire. Three main grooves are provided which enclose the two circumferential ribs of essentially rectangular blocks. The central main groove is located in the zenith portion of the tire; the outer main grooves are respectively connected with the adjacent separating grooves by transverse grooves which are disposed at a slight incline to the transverse direction. The tread profile depth is at most 5 mm.

  • Patent number: 4408647
Abstract: A vehicle wheel having a rigid wheel rim upon which a pneumatic belted tire is mounted. The beads of the tire contain pull-resistant cores, and are secured by a wheel flange against sliding laterally from the seating surfaces. A recess for receiving a tire bead during mounting of the tire is located adjacent to the seating surface on that side facing the rim middle. The seating surfaces are arranged on the inner periphery of the rim adjacent to a radially inwardly extending wheel flange. The base of the recess has a larger diameter than do the seating surfaces. The mantle surfaces of the rim adjacent to the recess are essentially even or smooth supporting surfaces for the tire zenith or crown portion during emergency operation of the tire. The middle portion of the rim, between the mantle surfaces, is also embodied at least partially as a supporting surface for the tire zenith portion during emergency operation of the tire, and the supporting surface lies essentially at the level of the mantle surfaces.

  • Patent number: 4298579
Abstract: Conversion of plutonium nitrate containing americium as a contaminant into plutonium dioxide while concurrently preventing americium contaminant from passing into the plutonium dioxide product. Discontinuous precipitation of plutonium oxalate is effected by maintaining the Pu nitrate-nitric acid solution containing americium in a reaction vessel at 60.degree.-95.degree. C., adding granular solid oxalic acid or solid ammonium oxalate in freeflowing form substantially free of clusters and lumps in stoichiometric deficiency of up to 7% of oxalic acid for reaction with the Pu in the solution; separating resultant Pu oxalate precipitate into which at least a portion of the americium contaminant has been prevented from entering, and calcining the purified Pu oxalate precipitate to PuO.sub.2.
