  • Publication number: 20060037910
Abstract: The present invention constitutes dialysate formulations that are suitable for use in preparing dialysate solutions for use in batch and/or proportioning systems and for improving dialysis efficiency by reducing or preventing clotting of the dialysis flow paths. The dialysate chemical formulations for one batch of dialysate comprise an acid concentrate stored in a first vessel, and a citrate-containing bicarbonate concentrate stored in a second vessel. The contents of the first and second vessels are emptied into a dialysate preparation tank and mixed with water to form a batch quantity of dialysate solution. Alternately, a dry acid and/or a dry citrate-containing base concentrates are dissolved separately in measured quantities of water to form liquid concentrates which are then used in conjunction with a proportioning machine to generate on-line a final dialysis solution stream.

  • Publication number: 20050196268
Abstract: A high modulus component, such as an aircraft engine turbine blade, is formed from a base metal that has a high modulus crystallographic orientation that is aligned with the primary, i.e. radial, direction of the turbine blade. The base metal is Ni, Fe, Ti, Co, Al, Nb, or Mo based alloy. Alignment of a high modulus direction of the base metal with the primary direction provides enhanced high cycle fatigue life.

  • Publication number: 20050098296
Abstract: A casting system for forming a gas turbine engine component is provided. The casting system, in a first embodiment, comprises a shaped refractory metal sheet having a plurality of features for forming a plurality of film cooling passages, which features are formed from refractory metal material bent out of the sheet. The casting system for forming a gas turbine engine component in a second embodiment comprises a metal wall having an airfoil shape and a refractory metal core adjacent the metal wall and having a shape corresponding to the shape of the metal wall.

  • Patent number: 5400709
Abstract: A portable print head module dedicated to one type of printing, for example rotary screen printing, for functionally replacing one print head, dedicated to another type of printing, for example flexographic printing, in a rotary printing press having a number of spaced apart print head stations for transferring multiple images along the length of a continuous web substrate. The rotary print head module is installed by partially retrofitting one of the print head stations. The module can be moved to functionally replace any of the print heads in the rotary printing press. A non-rotating impression bar can be used to back the continuous web instead of a rotatable impression cylinder. A cushion of air is formed on the backing face of the impression bar on which the continuous web can ride.
