  • Patent number: 6481603
Abstract: A clothes hanger has a hook for engaging a bar to support the change, a first and second side bar extending at substantially opposite angles from the hook, an horizontal bar extending between the side bars at ends of the side bars away from the hook, and a pliable compression strip having a length and opposite ends, one end engaging one of the side bars and the other end engaging the other of the side bars at engagement points on the side bars between the hook and the horizontal bar. The length of the pliable strip is greater than a straight line distance between the engagement points, such that the pliable strip, curving downward, urges against a portion of the horizontal bar, in a manner to secure an article of clothing against the horizontal bar.

  • Patent number: 6213359
Abstract: A non-slip trousers hanger is formed from a conventional plastic clothes hanger by cementing a layer of polyurethane around the entire surface of the horizontal bar. This is easily and quickly done by slitting a polyurethane tubing having an I.D. equal to the diameter of the bar and slipping the tubing over an adhesive coated bar.

  • Patent number: 5163343
Abstract: A system for fastening at least a pair of plies of fabric together utilizing a helical member having body portion of a certain pitch. The helical member also includes a sharpened tip and an end portion with a loop which lies in a plane which intersects the helical path of the helical member. A tool constructed with a gripping portion and a hollow portion connected to the same is employed to turn the helical member through the adjacent plies of fabric. The hollow portion is provided with a helical surface which is intended to contact the helical member. The pitch of the helical surface of the hollow member is opposite to that of the helical member.

  • Patent number: 5039149
Abstract: A scoop for the collection and disposal of animal feces includes a rectangular metal sheet formed into a "V" with a pivoting elongated handle on a top leg of the "V" and a resilient member connected to one interior surface of the top leg and contacting the interior of the lower leg for grasping the closed end of a plastic bag, the open end of which is brought out and around the "V" and secured to a rubber disc by either a clip on a cord or, if plastic grocery or merchandise bags are used, by the handles on the bags. The bags can readily be removed, tied closed, and disposed of without danger of physical contact with the contents.

  • Patent number: 4901961
Abstract: Carpet engaging support devices for anchoring tippable or slidable objects in desired position on a carpeted floor, the devices having one or more sharpened prongs engagable through and under the carpet, with the prongs being arranged to hold the devices on the carpet against unwanted removal. Spring clips, detent means and magnetic means are provided for releasably securing the devices to the objects to be anchored. In one aspect of the invention, the devices are particularly suited for anchoring a receptacle balanced on top of a carpeted floor hump in an automobile, while in other aspects the devices are particularly suited for anchoring mats, throw rugs and the like.

  • Patent number: 4790645
Abstract: Fitted eyeglass frames having ear engaging members curved to conform to the full contour of the back of the ear they are to engage and moveable rearwardly with respect to the sidebars for releasing the frames for easy removal. In two forms of the invention, the ear engaging members are pivotally attached to the rear ends of the frame sidebars and magnetic and spring means are provided to hold the ear engaging members in desired contact with the ear. In another form of the invention, a spring loaded telescoping section is interposed between the ear engaging members and the sidebars of the frames, and a setscrew acting in the telescoping connection permits adjustment of the effective length of the sidebars.
