    Abstract: A flexible HVAC duct is made with a support structure-containing duct liner, insulation layer, and reinforcing layer-containing vapor barrier. At least the duct liner and vapor barrier are constructed of polymer materials that enable them to be placed in the same recycling stream once the flexible HVAC duct is removed from its installed location. The insulation layer can also be made of a polymer material compatible with that used for the duct liner and vapor barrier so that the entire duct can be recycled once removed.

    Abstract: A HVAC branch line includes a boot, flexible duct, and integral connection therebetween. The boot can be configured to pre-hold fasteners to facilitate field installation. The branch line can also include one or more straps or other another structure, which are used to support the branch line, and optionally compress the duct before, during or after installation. Since the duct and boot are integrally connected, a field connection between the two is unnecessary and the duct can be easily supported during installation of the branch line.

The alerts and the usage and status information are presented to a user through a user interface allowing easy access to the storage and usage information and the ability to select desired information for display.

    Abstract: Circuitry is provided to drive a step recovery diode (SRD) (8) in a sampler based vector network analyzer (VNA) that allows harmonic samplers (10, 11) to operate over many octaves. The circuit includes a digital pulse generator (FIG. 5) for providing a LO signal. The LO signal is provided over an octave frequency range as in previous SRD driver circuits, but pulse forming circuitry is provided to decrease the pulse rate to a sub multiple of the LO generating oscillator signal. The pulse forming circuitry includes a programmable frequency divider (50) to vary the pulse rate. The pulse forming network further includes registers (50, 52) connected to the programmable frequency divider (50) to limit the pulse width resulting in reduced heating of the SRDs. With an effectively wider frequency operation range using the SRD (8), only one downconversion is required in the VNA, eliminating the need for additional mixers (30, 31) and a second LO signal generator (24) to provide a second downconversion.

    Abstract: A method and apparatus are used to calibration a Vector Network Analyzer (VNA). The method includes providing a calibration module with a single port, providing within the calibration module a set of reflecting components with known scattering parameters, providing control signals to the calibration module through the single port, providing the known scattering parameters to the VNA through the single port, coupling one of reflecting components to the VNA, measuring scattering parameters, and comparing the measured scattering parameters with the known scattering parameters. The apparatus includes a calibration module and a controller module. In one embodiment, the calibration module includes a set of reflecting components, a memory that stores the characterization data, and a current source which sends characterization data in the form of current pulses to the controller module. The controller module includes a voltage source that generates the control signals used by the calibration module.

The design of components for the printed circuit board enable a significant reduction of size from a typical spectrum analyzer which weighs 40 pounds or more and measures on the order of 2 feet by 3 feet by 0.5 feet.

    Abstract: An automotive radar test system includes circuitry for multiple down and up conversions of a signal from the automotive radar. Conditioning circuitry delays an intermediate frequency signal (IF2) obtained after a second down conversion to simulate the delay of a return signal from an object located a particular distance from the automotive radar, and to attenuate the IF2 signal to simulate variable target sizes, and to generate a Doppler shift in the IF2 signal to simulate target speed. The conditioned signal is up-converted and transmitted back to the automotive radar system to determine if the automotive radar provides accurate readings for distance, size and speed. The radar test system further couples the second IF signal to a spectrum analyzer to determine if the automotive radar is operating in the desired bandwidth and to a power meter to determine if the automotive radar is transmitting at a desired power level.
