  • Patent number: 6458126
Abstract: A combined device for simultaneously dissecting tissue, suctioning loose tissue and coagulating tissue during a surgical procedure having a hand-held elongated housing supporting an elongated body enclosing a metallic suction tube electrically conductive wherein the tube terminates at the distal end with an opening adjacent to an integrally formed electrical element. The tube is covered with insulation with the element exposed to provide a tissue dissecting and coagulating surface. Therefore, the electrical element serves to sever tissue as well as to coagulate simultaneously with suctioning of fluids from the surgical area.

  • Publication number: 20020133060
Abstract: A pair of tongs are joined together by a pivot wherein one end of each of the respective tongs includes a handle portion and a spring biasing mechanism which expands against the respective handle portions so that the opposite end of the tongs carrying cantilevered prongs are normally biased together. The prongs curve at a 90° angle and extend outwardly from the instrument at the distal end in curvatures. A selected one of the prongs is provided with an elongated slot for mounting of a suction tube. One end of the suction tube terminates adjacent the curved tip while the opposite end of the suction tube is connected to a source of suction.

  • Patent number: 6224547
Abstract: A tongue depressor, including an elongated strip or body having opposite ends separated by a flat midsection wherein each end is curved in an opposite or reverse direction. One end of the strip is curved upwardly while the opposite end of the strip is curved downwardly. The entire length of the strip may embody a slight, weak, or shallow curve. The width of the strip may be wider than commonly employed and also, the respective opposite ends of the strip may be wider than the midsection which interconnects the opposite ends. A separate end section may include a doubled over depressor piece and the section may insertably receive the end of a flat stick.

  • Patent number: 5983898
Abstract: A nasal splint obturator for maintaining splint passageways open and unblocked having a yoke-like device including spaced-apart and parallel arms joined by a cross member with a downwardly depending finger-grasping element. The arms are elongated of semi-circular cross-section having opposing inner flat surfaces and curved outer surfaces. In another version, a single elongated member is employed of hollow construction and including a finger hole adapted to be temporarily covered to permit evacuation by suction techniques.

  • Patent number: 5907945
Abstract: A holiday light set storage device and method for storing a holiday tree light set having a plurality of lights coupled together via wires. The holiday light storage device includes a base mounting a pair of upstanding, spaced apart light trays adjustably coupled to the base for movement relative to each other. At least one of the trays includes a plurality of laterally spaced apart, open-ended, upwardly opening slots for slidably receiving successive portions of the string in a zig-zag fashion. Adjacent lights on the string are disposed on the outer sides of the slots and the wires between adjacent bulbs are slidably received in the slots and extend between the inner sides of the upstanding trays. A cover is provided for enclosing the trays and the base.
