  • Publication number: 20140058221
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein use near field communications to locate a radiating transponder, such as a pill swallowed by a patient. The system can be triggered to turn on and transmit an amplitude shift keyed waveform (or other type of waveform) to a set of antennas attached to, coupled with, or near the patient at roughly known locations. The magnetic field emitted by the transponder can be measured by the receiving antennas, for example, using principles of mutual inductance. The differential phase and/or time shifts between the antennas can contain sufficient information to find the location of the transponder and optionally its orientation relative to body coordinates. The system can display the location and/or orientation of the transponder and may optionally provide other information about the movement, flow, or other characteristics of pill to assist clinicians with diagnosis.

  • Publication number: 20140051949
Abstract: Systems and methods described herein use near field communications to locate a set of antennas attached to, coupled with, or near the patient. A signal emitted by an antenna in the set of antennas can be received by the other antennas in the set. A second signal can be further transmitted from another antenna in the set. The differential phase and/or time shifts between the antennas from the multiple signal transmissions can contain sufficient information to find the locations of the antennas in antenna centric coordinates. The antenna locations can then be used to find a location of a pill transmitter swallowed by the patient.

The inlet is configured to removably couple with the fan and to direct the second airflow in a first direction. The inlet duct is coupled to the inlet and directs the second airflow in a second direction around the conduit and a third direction into a turbomachine enclosure. The outlet duct receives the second airflow from a fourth direction substantially opposite to the third direction and directs the second airflow in the second direction. The outlet is configured to removably couple with the fan and to direct the second airflow in a fifth direction. The fan within the air intake is removably coupled to the inlet or to the outlet and is configured to positively or negatively pressurize the turbomachine enclosure with the second airflow based on the fan disposition.

  • Patent number: 8473996
Abstract: Metadata are provided to video generators using a syndication protocol, so that the video generators may produce interactive video content for television subscribers. Metadata relating to source media content are transformed in a computer process from a storage format into a syndication format. Relevant metadata to transform are chosen to reflect the type of interactivity desired by a television service provider and the demands of the video generation process. The transformed metadata are published according to a syndication protocol, so that another computer process that participates in the protocol may generate the interactive video content using the metadata, the source media content, and subscriber commands.

  • Patent number: 7828081
Abstract: A method of drilling a bore hole in a fractured formation. A drill pipe is deployed into the borehole, whereby an annular space is formed between the drill pipe and the borehole wall. A drilling fluid is pumped, by means of primary pumps, into the borehole via an internal conduit of the drill pipe and a drill pipe fluid outlet present in the vicinity of a distal end of the drill pipe. The annular space is pressure sealed using a pressure seal such as a rotating head on a BOP. A well control fluid is pumped into the annular space via a well control conduit that fluidly connects the annular space, in a location between the pressure seal and the drill pipe fluid outlet, to a backpressure system. The well control fluid is pressure-balanced against the pressure seal and the backpressure system.
