  • Patent number: 5683030
Abstract: A recycle trash collector for holding and segregating recyclable materials includes a plurality of stackable modular containers having a first door hingedly attached to a front of the containers in covering relation to an open mouth and a second smaller door hingedly attached to the first door in covering relation to a geometrically shaped opening formed in the first door. The first and second doors are structured for swinging movement between open and closed positions. The second door and the corresponding geometrically shaped opening on each container are specifically sized and shaped to identify a particular type of recyclable material and to allow the material to be deposited therein.

  • Patent number: 5595407
Abstract: A roof latching device for latching a convertible folding roof to the header of the windscreen of a vehicle having a pull-to mechanism located centrally of the header, the pull-to mechanism including a hook element for engagement of a formation on the roof when the roof is located close to the header and acting to pull the roof firmly down onto the header, the latching device also including a locking mechanism located in the header on either side of the pull-to mechanism to lock the roof against the header after it has been pulled against the header by the pull-to mechanism.

  • Patent number: 5385381
Abstract: A vehicle roof comprises a roof frame and a cover made of flexible material, the roof frame has a pair of main beams each beam extending longitudinally of the vehicle on either side of the passenger compartment, when the roof is erected; the forward ends of the main beams are interconnected by a canopy rail which is adapted to engage and be latched to a windscreen header of the vehicle; at least one bow spans the main beams at a position spaced longitudinally rearwardly of the canopy rail, said bow when the roof is erected extending above the common plane of the main beams; the main beams are hinged at one or more positions along their lengths and linkage mechanisms are provided on each side of the roof frame to control folding of the roof frame as it is moved between an erected and lowered position, power means is provided to move the roof frame between its erected and lowered positions; a linkage mechanaism is provided to retract said bow towards the common plane of the main beams during movement of the roo

  • Patent number: 5311702
Abstract: A door seal is formed as an elongate strip of resilient material, the strip defining a body section having formations by which it may be secured around a door opening so that it is disposed inboard of a sideglass of the door when the door is closed and the sideglass raised; a lip section extending outwardly from the body section, the lip section being joined to the body section by a root portion and having a tip at the end remote from the root portion, the tip being directed back towards the body section such that when the door is closed with the sideglass raised, the tip will be deflected inwardly towards the root portion and the lip section will engage the sideglass on its outer surface.

  • Patent number: 5253916
Abstract: A wind deflector for shielding the occupants of a convertible vehicle from backdraughts, has a rigid board mounted on a substantially flat surface behind the seats of the vehicle, the board being mounted on the flat surface by means of a linkage mechanism by which it may be moved between a retracted position, in which it lies flat against the flat surface, to an operative position in which it extends upwardly behind the seats to a height sufficient to shield the occupants of the vehicle from backdraughts, the lower edge of the rigid board being spaced above the flat surface when the rigid board is in its operative position and an extension of the deflector being attached to the rigid board and the flat surface, to fill the gap therebetween.

  • Patent number: 4927324
Abstract: A ducted fan including a funnel-shaped duct positioned upstream of the impeller and connected to a base, an outer cowling concentrically positioned downstream and attached to said duct through a series of ribs, an inner cowling positioned inside the outer cowling and surrounding the impeller and a circular grill attached to the discharge end of the inner cowling. The grill including a center hub and a series of arcuate-shaped ribs extending outwardly from the hub and having a constant curvature of less diameter than the outside radius of the grill whereby the maximum lateral spacing between the ribs is at a radius inboard from the outside radius of the grill.

  • Patent number: 4666441
Abstract: A dermal or transdermal patch comprising (1) a backing layer which is non-permeable with respect to a drug formulation to be contained within the patch, (2) a membranous layer, which is permeable to the drug, having a first surface partially in contact with said backing layer so as to define multiple compartments, (3) at least one drug or drug formulation contained within said compartments, (4) an adhesive layer on a second surface of said membranes layer, and (5) a peelable protective cover layer on said adhesive layer.

  • Patent number: 4180099
Abstract: A fluid inlet passageway communicates at one end with a source of fluid under pressure and at the opposite end with a fluid outlet passageway. A piston type control valve is movable axially in the fluid inlet passageway and is in fluid pressure sealing engagement with the opposite end portions of said passageway but not with an enlarged intermediate portion thereof, at which position of the valve fluid under pressure may pass around the valve and exit the outlet passageway. The valve is switched between said end and intermediate positions by a stepped stop block on the projecting end of the piston rod engageable releasably by an abutment on a cam follower lever which mounts a cam follower roller positioned for engagement with a pair of relatively adjustable cam elements mounted for rotation with a timer shaft driven by a wind-up spring clock timer.
