  • Publication number: 20130093682
Abstract: A method and device for receiving input are provided. The method involves determining an orientation of a touchscreen. When the orientation of the touchscreen is portrait, the method involves rendering at least one input element organized according to a first set of placement rules. When the orientation of the touchscreen is landscape, the method involves rendering the at least one input element organized according to a second set of placement rules. The second set of placement rules causes each of the at least one input element to be rendered proximate to one of first and second opposite edges of the touchscreen. The device includes a processor and a touchscreen configured to carry out the method.

  • Publication number: 20130063383
Abstract: First information for a first application is displayed in a window or field on an electronic device. A gesture requesting display of second information for a second application is detected by the electronic device. In response to detecting the gesture, the second information is displayed in a first format in a first part of the window or field while displaying the first information in a second part of the window or field and the second information is displayed in a second format in a third part of the window or field while displaying the first information in a fourth part of the window or field when the gesture continues beyond the threshold.

  • Publication number: 20130055170
Abstract: A gesture is detected by an electronic device including a display. In response to detecting a first part of the gesture, a first part of first information is displayed on the display. In response to detecting a second part of the gesture subsequent to the first part of the gesture, the display of the first part of the first information is maintained. In response to detecting a third part of the gesture subsequent to the second part of the gesture, an additional part of the information is displayed.

  • Publication number: 20130033523
Abstract: An electronic device may have a display screen usable in at least two orientations, such as landscape orientation and portrait orientation. Provided in this disclosure is selective rendering of a structured document according to the orientation of the display screen. A structured document such as as webpage is rendered (as a first rendered document) for display according to the document object model structure and optionally styles provided with the webpage. The same webpage is rendered (as a second rendered document) by removing or replacing selected objets in the document object model structure, or by applying different style directives than included in the originally received webpage. When the display screen is in a first orientation, the first rendered document is displayed. When a change in orientation of the display screen to the second orientation is detected, the second rendered document is displayed.

  • Patent number: 8352524
Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates organizing and presenting data within a database. A data store can store a portion of data accessible to a user. A real time monitor component can dynamically track an amount of access for the portion of data within the data store. A display engine can render a multi-scaled view of the portion of data, wherein the multi-scaled view is based on the amount of access in which a size representation of the data is correlated with the amount of access.

  • Patent number: 8346017
Abstract: The claimed subject matter provides a system and/or a method that facilitates simulating a portion 2-dimensional (2D) data for implementation within a 3-dimensional (3D) virtual environment. A 3D virtual environment can enable a 3D exploration of a 3D image constructed from a collection of two or more 2D images, the 3D image is constructed by combining the two or more 2D images based upon a respective image perspective. An analyzer can evaluate the collection of two or more 2D images to identify a portion of the 3D image that is unrepresented by the combined two or more 2D images. A synthetic view generator can create a simulated synthetic view for the portion of 3D image that is unrepresented, the simulated synthetic view replicates a 2D image with a respective image perspective for the unrepresented portion of 3D image.
