  • Publication number: 20180233009
Abstract: A security system utilizes at least one unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) that is equipped with a video camera and a motion detector. The UAV is controlled remotely by a ground control station having a computer. When not in flight, the UAV is mounted on a docking station that has a battery charger for charging a battery in the UAV when the UAV is docked at the docking station. The UAV has a transmitter that transmits an alert signal to the ground control station when an intruder is detected via the video camera or motion detector. The ground control station is configured to deploy and control the UAV to follow the intruder upon receiving the signal from the UAV. The UAV is controlled by personnel at the ground control station, who can direct the flight path of the UAV based on the movements of the intruders.

  • Publication number: 20180206704
Abstract: A device and method for treating disease involves inserting a scope into a patient's body, the scope having a light source, a camera and a cartridge connected thereto. The cartridge has two chambers separated by membrane, a first one of the chambers containing a virus, and a second one of the chambers being connected to a plurality of microneedles configured for extending into the patient's tissue upon insertion of the scope. Cells from the patient are removed via suction from the microneedles and are deposited in the second chambers. The membrane is then broken to mix the virus with the cells to infect the cells, and the infected cells are then transported back into the patient to treat the disease.

  • Publication number: 20180157228
Abstract: Systems and methods of measuring feet and designing and creating orthopedic inserts are described. A leg length discrepancy of a user is measured and this data, along with foot size are input into a computer. The computer then creates a computer model of a custom shoe insert based on this information. The computer model is then sent to a 3D printer to print the insert. The insert consists of a base insert with partial correction, and several additional layers that are added successively over time until a full correction is obtained. This eliminates any pain associated with a fully corrective insert, and allows the body to adjust gradually to the correction.

  • Publication number: 20180140817
Abstract: A bandage is formed of a film layer, an adhesive applied to the film layer, and an absorbent layer connected to the film layer. The absorbent layer comprises a compressed fabric. A plurality of microneedles are disposed within the absorbent layer, each microneedle having an end that extends through the absorbent layer and is configured to penetrate a wound when the bandage is applied over the wound. An antimicrobial agent disposed within the bandage and in communication some of the microneedles, so that upon application of the bandage to the wound, the antimicrobial agent is transported though said microneedles to the wound. The microneedles not in communication with the microbial agent are configured to transport fluid from the wound to the absorbent layer.

  • Publication number: 20180043043
Abstract: A portable capsule for insertion into a bandage consists of an light emitting diode (LED) connected to a power source encased in a housing. The housing has a clear window that allows the UV light from the LED to shine through and sterilize the surrounding bandage area. The capsule is inserted into the bandage material and held within the bandage to kill any bacteria that enters the bandage. The capsule is kept away from any direct skin contact, so there is no risk of burns or skin damage from the UV light. When the bandage is removed from the patient, the capsule can be removed from the bandage, cleaned, and re-used in the next bandage.

  • Publication number: 20180000248
Abstract: A portable cushion has a first chamber formed from an upper sheet and a lower sheet sealed to the upper sheet along three edges, and a resealable closure extending between the upper sheet and lower sheet along a fourth edge to create an air-impermeable pocket when the closure is sealed. There is a second chamber formed from an upper sheet and a lower sheet sealed to the upper sheet along three edges, and a resealable closure extending between the upper sheet and lower sheet along a fourth edge to create an air-impermeable pocket when the closure is sealed. The second chamber is connected to one of the three edges of the first chamber along one of the three edges of the second chamber, to form a two-part cushion having a hinge between the two chambers. The cushion can be filled with air by waving each chamber through the air while the respective fourth edge is in an open position, and then sealing the respective closure element when air has entered the chamber.

  • Publication number: 20170318933
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a two-component liquid composition to a surface has a housing having an open end, an inner surface and an outer surface, an applicator retained in the housing and projecting through the open end, two containers removably mounted to the inner surface of the housing, each container having a dispensing nozzle extending through an aperture in the housing and arranged adjacent the applicator. A cover is mounted over the containers. There is a cutting device arranged on the housing adjacent the nozzles, the cutting device having at least one blade, wherein pressing the cutting device causes the blades to pierce the nozzles and allow contents of the containers to exit the containers and flow to the applicator.

  • Publication number: 20170231355
Abstract: An apparatus for applying a two-component liquid composition to a surface has a housing having an open end, and a roller ball disposed and rotatably retained in the housing and projecting through the open end. There are two containers disposed at least partially in the housing. Each container has a dispensing nozzle arranged adjacent the roller ball. The nozzles have an open end such that a liquid or pasty substance disposed in each of the containers flows from the containers through the nozzle directly to the roller ball upon application of pressure to the substances in the containers. Rolling roller ball across a surface mixes the two substances on the roller ball with each other. This occurs by virtue of the movement of the roller ball around the surface, which causes the substances to flow around the ball and mix with each other during rolling.

  • Publication number: 20170202460
Abstract: A method and system for diagnosing and treating infection or disease, in which an individual takes a photograph of an infected or diseased area of a body using a camera or imaging system connected to a microprocessor. The photograph is sent to a diagnosing center having a server with a second microprocessor and a database of photographs correlated with different diseases and infections. The second microprocessor scans the image received from the camera and compares it to the photographs in the database. If a match is found, the second microprocessor then notes the disease or bacteria corresponding to the matching photograph. The second microprocessor then searches an additional database correlated to the match, to further refine the diagnosis. The second microprocessor then searches the second database for a treatment corresponding to the identified disease or bacteria. Once a treatment is identified, information regarding this treatment is automatically sent to the individual's microprocessor.

  • Publication number: 20170181631
Abstract: A system for monitoring the health of an individual by providing biometric sensors attached to or inside the skin of a patient, along with a transmitter connected to the sensors for transmitting data from the sensors to a central monitoring station via a receiver located near the sensors. The sensor system is connected to an RFID tag, which communicates with an RFID reader in a remote location. The RFID tag transmits data from the sensors to the reader through the antenna, and the data is then analyzed by a microprocessor and an alert is communicated to a central monitoring station if the data from the sensors exceeds a preset threshold limit.
