  • Patent number: 7803869
Abstract: A weather resistant, easily removable paint composition for application over a surface or over another paint. The removable paint composition comprises from about 19 to about 34% by weight of a combination of two different acrylic polymers, from about 0.2 to 4% by weight of an aliphatic water-borne urethane polymer, from 0.06% to 0.6% by weight of an alkali, and water. • Publication number: 20100191387
Abstract: An intelligent auxiliary power supply system for supplying power to a load such as a furnace or air handler using a rechargeable power source. An intelligent controller determines appropriate periods for switching to auxiliary power, thus allowing the user to realize increased energy related cost savings. A plurality of sensors including a current transducer, an indoor and outdoor temperature sensor, and a clock transmit information to the intelligent controller. Implementing user configured algorithms, the intelligent controller continuously compares information transmitted from said sensors and said load, to information inputted by the user via an electronic device to determine the appropriate power configuration. A remote electronic device may also be connected to the system, allowing the user to control the system while not in close proximity to said system and also allowing the user's energy provider to send requests to switch to auxiliary power.

  • Publication number: 20100032946
Abstract: A motion induced generator is mounted to a vehicle or conveyance to harness the oscillatory motion generated during travel of the vehicle or conveyance, and may be coupled to at least one device or system, such as an external rail car lighting system, a global positioning device, a diagnostic device, or a combination thereof. Once the motion of the vehicle is harnessed and translated into usable and/or storable energy, the current or voltage is transmitted directly to the units for immediate consumption or for storage in a battery, capacitor, or a combination thereof.

  • Patent number: 7389159
Abstract: A method for controlling fossil fuel fired heating systems according to an improved adaptive cyclical control method when operating on backup (auxiliary DC) electrical power. Battery life is prolonged when used in conjunction with such improved method. Operating characteristics of the heating equipment and home or building being heated are monitored and stored in electronic memory during normal periods of operation when grid power is available. These characteristics are used to create control algorithms that are in turn specific to the system, as defined by the heating equipment and conditioned space. When the grid power is lost the control algorithms select the optimal heating mode, determine optimal cycle duration, and estimate the time to exhaustion of the remaining backup power. Operation is divided into sequential modes. When a prolonged low voltage period is detected, the backup power control initiates a short-term preliminary energy conservation mode.

  • Patent number: 7387493
Abstract: A rotary impeller assembly is for a fluid machine and includes a support member having an outer surface and blades connected to the support member. Each blade includes first and second integral portions, the blade first portion having a first thickness and being spaced from the base surface and the blade second portion is disposed against the support member outer surface and has a second thickness. The second thickness is substantially greater than the first thickness such that the blade has greater stiffness proximal to the support and a lesser stiffness generally distal from the support. Preferably, the blades are connected with the support welds between each blade sidewall and the support member. Further, each blade first portion is sized such that the blade first thickness is maintained in a significant area of the blade spaced from the weld(s) so as to allow blade flexure away from the weld.

  • Publication number: 20070112126
Abstract: An easily removable coating or paint which is a formulation of acrylic acid polymers and a urethane polymer preferably two acrylic acid polymers are used, one with a relatively high acid number and hardness temperature (glass transition) (Tg) and the other with a lower acid number and hardness temperature (Tg). This removable paint is applied to a surface by roller, screen printing, spraying or brushing and can be removed by a remover which is basically an alkali material with a surfactant. The remover needs to be agitated and allowed to set for a few minutes and then washed away with water. Ammonium hydroxide with surfactant and acrylic thickeners in water is one remover. Another remover is a combination of more than one alkalis, solvent, surfactants and thickeners.

  • Publication number: 20060282630
Abstract: Provided are a method, system, and program for managing retention of stored objects. A modification request is received with respect to a stored object. A determination is made as to whether a retention protection mechanism is set and a storage policy associated with the stored object is processed to determine whether the stored object has expired according to the storage policy in response to determining that the retention protection mechanism is set. • Publication number: 20060126850
Abstract: The present invention includes one or more clients in communication with a server. The client desires to send a storage construct to the server for storage. The client negotiates a transmission key with the server. The client generates a storage key associated specifically with the storage construct. The client encrypts the storage construct using the storage key and encrypts the storage key using the transmission key. The encrypted storage construct and encrypted storage key are sent to the server. The server decrypts the storage key using the transmission key. The server stores the storage construct on a storage device separate from a storage device storing the storage key. Preferably, any changes to the storage construct location, the storage key location, or the storage construct name are tracked and proper modifications are made to an association relating the location of the storage construct and the location for the corresponding storage key.

  • Publication number: 20050165722
Abstract: Provided is a method, system and program for storing data for later retrieval and for transfer within a storage hierarchy. A data storage subsystem stores both individual user files and also managed files, each managed file comprising an aggregation of multiple user files. After receiving user files from a client station, the subsystem stores user files in a retrieval storage pool to facilitate file retrieval. Criteria are subsequently applied to the user files stored in the retrieval storage pool to delete low or lower priority files from the retrieval storage pool. In addition, user files are aggregated in managed files for transfer to another location within the storage hierarchy.
