Abstract: A page zooming method for an electronic device having a touch screen includes the following steps. Display an image on the touch screen. Generate operation signals in response to a user's touch operation applied on the touch screen when the touch screen displays the image. Determine a touch region of the touch operation, so as to determine the touch operation as a type of an image zooming gesture according to the determined touch region, and the type of the image zooming gesture is selected from a group consisting of a zooming in gesture and a zooming out gesture. Create a zoomed image according to the displayed image, a predetermined zooming ratio and the determined type of the image zooming gesture. And display the zoomed image on the touch screen. An electronic device using the image zooming method is also provided.

Abstract: Described embodiments include a level shifter that provides a voltage level shift to applied signals, the amount of voltage shift being accurately controlled and independent of PVT. The level shifter has first transistor configured as a voltage follower with the gate coupled to an input terminal of the shifter and the source coupled to a node, a diode-connected transistor coupled between the node and an output terminal of the circuit, a first controlled current source coupled to the node, and a second controlled current source coupled to the output terminal. A controller receives a bandgap-stabilized voltage, squares the stabilized voltage to produce a control signal that controls the first and second controlled current sources. The voltage shift is proportional to a digitally-controlled scale factor (K) times the stabilized voltage. The ratio of the current from the first current source to the second current source is (K+1)/K.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a storage unit, a touch input unit, a display unit, and a processor. The storage unit stores a relationship table recording a mapping relationship between touch inputs and a number of commands associated with the touch inputs. The touch input unit generates signals in response to user's touch input. The processor includes a control module and an identification module. The control module controls displaying the sensed handwritten content on the display unit. The identification module recognizes the touch input of the sensed handwritten content and identifies if the touch input of the recognized handwritten content is associated with a command according to the signals and the relationship table. The control module also controls the electronic device to execute the associated command.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a storage unit, a touch screen, and a processor. The storage unit stores a relationship table recording a mapping relationship between touch inputs and a number of commands. The touch screen includes a command input region for generating signals in response to user's handwritten touch input. The size of the command input region is smaller than the size of the touch screen. The processor includes an image processing module, an identification module, and a control module. The image processing module creates an image of touch input according to the generated signals. The identification module identifies the touch input of the user according to the generated signals, and retrieves a command associated with the touch input. The control module controls displaying the created image of the touch input on the command input region, and controls the electronic device to execute the retrieved command.

Abstract: An electronic device includes a first rechargeable battery, a solar cell mounted on the electronic device, a second rechargeable battery and a power management circuit. The power management circuit includes a control module, a DC/DC module, a switch and a power supply switching module. The DC/DC module is configured for converting the DC power generated by the solar cell from one voltage level to another, and activating and maintaining the activation of the control module. The switch is turned on by the control module when the control module is activated, causing the DC power from the DC/DC module to charge the second rechargeable battery. The power supply switching module is controlled by the control module to select the second rechargeable battery to power the electronic device if the voltage level of the rechargeable battery is lower than that of the second rechargeable battery.

Abstract: A street light includes a post, a light source mounted on the post, a communicating unit, a button unit, a camera unit, a storage unit, and a central control unit. The communicating unit communicates with a server which includes an alarm system. The button unit and the camera unit are mounted on the post. The central control unit enables the camera unit to take photo of an area adjacent to the street light in response to manual operation of the button unit. The storage unit stores location information of the street light and the photos taken by the camera unit. The central control unit further transmits the photo and the location information obtained from the storage unit to the server via the communication unit. A related method is also provided.

Abstract: An electronic device capable of simulating page flip effect includes an input unit, a display unit, a page flip control module and a thickness control module. The input unit generates a flip-page instruction in response to a user's operation. The display unit displays an electronic document in a page flipping format which includes a currently displayed page and a margin portion adjacent to the currently displayed page, and the margin portion includes a plurality of displayed stacked margins of undisplayed pages. The margins cooperatively resemble a thickness of the undisplayed pages. The page flip control module flips the currently displayed page over in response to the flip-page instruction to display a page flipping effect on the display unit. The thickness control module adds or removes a margin displayed in the margin portion, in response to the flip-page instruction to present a variation of the thickness of the undisplayed pages accordingly.

Abstract: A charging management system applied in a public facility includes a communicating unit communicating with a server with an online payment system, a charge interface, a power converting unit, a billing unit, and a control unit. The power converting unit converts power provided by a power supply to charge an electronic device connected to the charge interface. The control unit generates an electronic bill according to a charging cost computed by the billing unit, sends the electronic bill to the server, and communicates with the online payment system of the server to pay for the electronic bills. A related method is also provided.

The method includes the following steps: displaying a page of content on the touch screen, the displayed page consisting of a number of regions comprising a center region and a plurality of peripheral regions surrounding the center region; detecting a touch operation on the displayed page and generating a signal associated therewith; determining the touched region where the touch operation occurs; determining whether the touch operation is a mode switching operation according to the signal; and controlling the electronic device to switch between a browsing mode and a zooming mode according to the signal and the location of the touched region on the displayed page, if the touch operation is a mode switching operation. Abstract: A tool holder for holding a cutting tool comprises a housing, a sleeve received in one end of the housing, a switch fastened in the other end of the housing, a cover fastened at an end of the housing adjacent to the sleeve to prevent the sleeve from being taken out of the housing, and an elastic member sleeved on the sleeve. The switch is electrically connected to a control system of a main spindle of a CNC turning machine and is applied for controlling the movement of the main spindle. The elastic member is compressed to elastically resist with the sleeve and generates an elastic force to make the sleeve move away from the switch, and the sleeve is slidably configured along the inner surface of the housing to contact the switch to stop the movement of the main spindle of the CNC turning machine.

The central processing unit includes a control module, a searching module, and a spit-screen module. The control module generates a first window on the touch display unit to display a text document when the text document is opened, and determines a selected text of the displayed text document by a user according to touch positions when the touch display unit is touched. The searching module searches occurrences of the selected text in the text document, and the control module stores the searched text in the storage unit. The spit-screen module displays each occurrence of the selected text on a second window produced thereby with a size thereof smaller than that of the first window. A related method is also provided.

The piston is assembled within the receiving hole of the cylinder body, and is slidably and rotatably sleeved on the guiding member via the at least one roll ball. The at least one roll ball is movably sandwiched between the piston and the guiding member, and is capable of sliding within the sliding groove and the rotating groove of the guiding member thereby driving the piston to slide and rotate relative to the guiding member.

Abstract: A cutter-changing device includes a cutter-magazine carrying cutters, a rotary telescopic cylinder, and a clamping sub-assembly. The clamping sub-assembly includes a cutter-changing arm, and a pair of clamping assemblies. The rotary telescopic cylinder drives the cutter-changing arm to rotate, extend and retract. Each clamping assembly includes a mounting member, an elastic member, a piston, and at least one resisting member. The mounting member is mounted on the cutter-changing arm, and defines at least one mounting hole through the sidewall thereof. The elastic member and the piston are sleeved with the mounting member, and the two opposite ends of the elastic member press against the piston and the mounting member. The resisting member is mounted between the elastic member and the mounting member, and capable of being resisted by the piston to be partially exposed from the mounting hole.

Abstract: A cutter switching system includes a supporting platform, a cutter magazine mounted on the supporting platform, and a sensing assembly mounted on the cutter magazine. The cutter magazine includes a cutter storing frame and a driving assembly. The cutter storing frame includes a cylindrical main body, and a plurality of cutters mounted all around the main body. The driving assembly includes a cam indexer engaging with the cutter storing frame for rotating the cutter storing frame. The sensing assembly is mounted on the cam indexer, and the sensor senses the rotation of the cam indexer to establish the static position and the rotation required of the cutter magazine. The present disclosure further provides a machine tool using the cutter switching system.
