  • Patent number: 7773659
Abstract: Disclosed herein is an Ultra WideBand (UWB) M-ary Code Shift Keying (MCSK)/Binary Pulse Position Modulation (BPPM) wireless communication system and method. The system includes a transmitter and a receiver. The transmitter selects a specific TH code using MCSK according to an additional data stream, performs BPPM on a desired signal according to the selected TH code, and transmits the modulated signal via a channel. The receiver receives the signal transmitted from the transmitter via the channel, and estimates the transmitted signal, which is transmitted from the transmitter, through detection of a Maximum Likelihood (ML) sequence.

  • Patent number: 7660230
Abstract: A novel transceiver structure is proposed to increase the achievable data rate for ultra wideband transmitted reference (UWB-TR) systems. For every Ns pulse pairs during one symbol transmission, the data pulses are weighted by one of the M-ary orthogonal sequences, thus carrying additional log2 M-bit information. Furthermore, by utilizing a pair of balanced matched filters before the cross correlator, the minimum separation between the reference and data pulses is significantly reduced without causing any inter-pulse interference (IPI), which in turn reduces the minimum required frame length in order to avoid the inter-frame interference (IFI). As a result, the invented TR system can achieve higher data rates than the conventional TR system, while maintaining superior bit-error-rate (BER) performance even with lower transmit power.

  • Patent number: 7192102
Abstract: A control panel assembly of a home appliance enables a planar contact to be made during a thermal fusion of a display panel to a control panel, so that a secure adhesion between the display panel and control panel can be established regardless of design contours of the home appliance. The assembly includes a control panel having a contour according to a design of the home appliance; and a display panel attached to the control panel, wherein a planar contact between the display panel and the control panel is established through a thermal fusion technique. The display panel is provided with a triangular protrusion along rear edge, and the control panel is provided with a recess for receiving the protrusion.

  • Patent number: 6289007
Abstract: A group code and a cell code are multiplexed and then used as a pilot code for discriminating a base station in asynchronous cellular CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) communication systems. Using the multiplexed code, interferences are reduced in case of using two pilot codes. A method for acquiring a cell site station in asynchronous CDMA (Code Division Multiple Access) communication systems including a base station controller, a plurality of mobile stations and base stations, and discriminating the base stations by using different sequences, the method including the steps of: a) assigning a group code of the cell as a pilot code of an inphase channel of the base stations; b) assigning a cell code of the cell as a pilot code of a quadrature channel of the base stations; and c) multiplexing the pilot codes of inphase channel and the quadrature channel, and generating an inphase/quadrature pilot code.
